The adventure kit looks cool with those plastic skid plates underneath. But at Rs 8,525, I am afraid the kit is little too overpriced, specially considering the factor that the scoobike itself costs at around 49k. I just imagine these kits on Grom, just bring Grom here Honda!

You say 8.5k is a lot then you ask them to bring the 1.35 lakh worth of Grom to India?
      Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

8.5 K for a underbelly plastic skid plate, a box, and a windshield is definitely high. I don’t know why you were comparing a full bike and a kit. There are two lines in my post 1. My complaint regarding the price FOR THE KIT and 2. How I would have liked Grom to be launched in India. Ask anyone who have had an Honda, they will tell you Honda’s price for accessories is always high.

8500 for 3 parts is pretty reasonable especially when the basic cost of an affordable 100cc scooter sits at 55k today(up from 39k when I bought one 10 years ago).

Do you know how much a Grom's windscreen alone costs today? $109 USD ~ 7408 INR.
A skid plate for the Grom costs $30 ~ 2040 INR.
And for your box, while there is no equivalent part for comparison, a modest tank bag from Cortech(Micro 2.0) for the Grom costs $60 ~ 4078 INR.

So the total comes up to 7408+2040+4078 = 13,526 INR.
So your 8.5k with taxes for 3 parts is a pretty fair deal.

The point I was making here is that if you find 8.5k for 3 accessories way too much, then how would you justify spending 1.4 lakhs on a Honda GROM?

Why is this thing so tiny? Today I saw one for the first time and it looked like one of those Clown scooters which they ride and have funny crashes.

Its what they're meant to be. Grom or MSX125 is also a stunting community's delight across the world. Then there are events from Grom owners to modify and participate in auto shows where they are rewarded with big cash prizes.

The spare parts and accessory market for these bikes is huge all around the world, so much so that Kawasaki also entered the market with their z125 last year.

FROM DUSK TO DAWN! The idea behind riding a Grom and a Z125 through San Francisco didn’t actually come about as a way to pit one 125cc bike against another. ...

Then google the term "Custom Grom" and see the image results on Youtube.

Yes. This particular gentleman rode 720kms on a tour on a Navi:

My answer would be the incomparable fun factor that Grom brings, its a pocket dynamite! For arguments sake someone might say better buy a Duke 200 at that price, but with weight to power ratio and the mod-ability with Grom is again incomparable. My point is every bit of Navi screams cheap, be it the overall built quality, lack of features et al. So in comparison spending 1/5th of total cost of Navi on some plastic bits, that’s where and how I felt they were overpriced. Peace out.
