Are you sure that there'd be something new?

We already have accessories for the R15 for the past several months.

A performance booster kit (or sort of) is said to be under progress.

That's it. The ownership thread has most information you need. There was one thread about R15's accessories but I don;t remember whether it was before or after the server crash.

@Hydbiker: Yeah even i heard this news , a new Re-mapped ECU, New exhaust, Iridium spark plugs, new filters, and a wider tyre , also we need to sign a bond saying that yamaha wont be responsible for any damange or insurance for the accident coz due to this upgrade as the RTO is still not approving the power boost for 150ccc....and it won't be street legal to drive this machine.

I also heard it will easily touch 160kmph and it's roll down figures to reduce gradually--mileage will drop to 20-25kmpL

Have u got the same News--it's gonna come out during May end

Whoa! Seriously? Plus TwoBrothers are also developing a Juicebox for this! I guess that wont reduce mileage as drastically as this.
            You get the point?? :D

Nothing but the one discussed above by Shadowboy.

Machine won't be street legal??? Damn... Then I guess lots of ppl won't go for it... even 20-25 kmpl is less... Any idea on how much this upgrade may cost?

the cost of upgrade would be enough to keep most of us away from it.

                    Hi,
I presume that many of the other owners have had purchased the R15 acc, like the anodised brake & clutch lever and all the anodised stuff. I have a serious problem regarding its fading. I shall post some pics in the same regard if so needed. Are any other owners having the same problem like mine, I thought that hard anodised stuff last a bit longer as mine not even saw the sun of the sixth month. Plz let me know whats the reason except for sun rays if it is. Should i complain Yamaha ppl abt the same coz these parts are seriously expensive on percentile basis. Any information regarding the same shall be more than a help.

The Upgrade is only for performance freaks which includes me-- who love to hit the rev limiter in every gear.

We recently went to ganpatipule Mumbai Xbhpians- the R15 was amazing at ghats specially having beside the R1 at straight with pillion on board was doing 125kmph - it was that time i wish if i had extra 5 horses would be some much more fun.

just for record the R1 was doing 160

P.S: Posers may not ably for the upgrade

I second on this with shadowboy. 5 ps or hp is like adding cherry to a classy cake it might seem a small addition from far but it changes the entire thing as a whole. Over here though it seems a bit difficult at this juncture to get an additional 5 horses but belive me it shall change the rules for I really feel the chassi the swing arm the tires the monoshock, the delta frame, the disil cylinder, the everything of this bike points that its most sweet spot is around 22bhp and i shall be the first to get the ecu mapping or any other mods which shall realise the same but wasting moohlas on spark plugs and stuff which just gives you the feel of something which you just cant get out of it. Though i do beleive that riding r15 is more of appreciating the beauty while its engg is at its best

I guess we need more details on that upgrade before we decide whether to go for it or not.. I'm not so worried about the price, more about whether it will be legal.

lolz who ever got that news needs some serious reality check....

If it aint road legal, it aint supposed to be ridden on the road.... fair and square...

AFAIK the RTO checks details majorly only towards Emission norms... I may be wrong though

If it aint road legal, be ready to be challaned everywhere you go, be ready to bear your damages as no Insurance will cover this...

I mean I am happy about the upgrade news... but I dont think the RTO will allow YAMAHA as a company to wash its hand off this mess by a bond...

Ofcourse if you intend to use this bike only on events and track, then its a different story!
