    News Approved

It was bound to happen, what with Yamaha, Kawasaki, Suzuki and Aprilia upping the ante, Honda was bound to follow thanks to the ever tightening regulations of WSBK. And now they have Nicky Hayden signed up there, they needed to get a better bike for him!

Take it for what it is. This is supposedly the refreshed 2017 Fireblade. As noted, its going to be the existing Blade with newer bodywork, some electrical rider aides, less weight and a small hp increment over the SP model. Notice it resembles the 2017 500R and the 250RR in its styling. This is reportedly from a promo shoot.

Looks delicious, though the fairing could have been done a better but looks stunning still. I like it that Honda is keeping it sane. 200Hp makes no sense honestly. As it is the Fireblade always had a very strong mid range as compared to others and which is what everyone plays with on the road. It always posted leading quarter mile times in all road tests.IT may not be as ferocious past 12000 as the beemer but again that's on the track.Besides most track guys in Europe heavily mod their bikes with various head and engine work anyway. Why dedicate resources and jack up prices. Just make a separate bike for track. Not sure how much of a price hike this parallel development of the RVF have on the Fireblade though.

I think the RR would look great in all white or all black. That exhaust can though looks like directly lifted from the new R1/R1M.
A usable 180 HP would be great & with good usable torque range shall yield a great road bike.

No electronics mumbo jumbo, all control with the rider is one funda I absolutely love on the Honda.

The RVF is rumored to cost literally double this Blade when it arrives. Honda says its going to be a track machine while the new Fireblade will be retained as the road worthy SBK.
As mentioned in the older interview, they say there are 3 directions for the company of which they have to choose 1.
                1) Create an all new 1000RR to a full spec 200ps machinery.
                2) Create a cheaper version of the RC213V-S and sell it alongside upgraded 1000RR.
                3) Create an all new v4 track bike and sell it alongside upgraded 1000RR.

Its either the 2nd or the third but it mostly looks like it will be the third because there isn't much price they can knockoff from the 213V-S for the masses.

Guys, the last image shows a sketch that's probably the V4 RVF 1000... most probably a Ninja H2 like senior offering that's actually more in reach, compared to the road version of the RCV.

But, if you see closely the last sketch in the first post, there appears to be no such conventional or modern frame, instead everything is being bolted on to the engine, much like the Panigale, whether the 899, 959 or the 1299.

So, are they going after the Ducati Panigale? Don't they fear a lawsuit? I guess if Ducati didn't quite take the efforts to patent it, then no, right?

And, if they do go ahead with this, will they just create a near perfect racebike, knowing that the "road friendly faired Litre class" duties are being handled by the CBR 1000?

Or is it just a case of an artists' sketch or a false info?

Those sketches are artistic renders. Not an actual representation of the RVF or whatever they're going to name it 2018. Much like the 250RR's initial renders with projector headlamps and some other designs being peddled by magazines.

Visordown says this is the official teaser for the 2017 Fireblade. Launch date is Oct 4th at Intermot Germany.

Honda teases 6 models at Intermot on October 4th in Germany.
Of the 6, there will be the updated Africa Twin and a CRF450, one X-ADV scooter, the new Fireblade and the other 2 models are unknown. 1 of them could be a patented Monkey bike.

Honda slyly files a patent for a "footrest redesign" which bloggers think is more than just a mere footrest design and is actually a patent for the 2018 RVF1000:

REVEALED! Here's the OFFICIAL design drawings for Honda's V4 superbike.
