The trend was kickstarted by Yamaha, and not Suzuki as stated in the article. But an otherwise good read."Tough times never last, but tough people do." - Robert Schuller

I say it will Boom, due to these reasons:-->
1. DRI getting strict over Grey Market Bikes. That means, Legal Bikes would boom...
2. In Recent years, there were 2 Big Bikes on Sale from Yamaha. This year, it's 10, +more are coming.
BTW What's the "news" in this anyway? We all knew the Sales numbers already ...?---

".....As biking catches on as a favourite pastime of young India, auto experts say the superbike market will expand to over 500 bikes this yearprice tagDucati56 bikesSuzuki Motorcycle and Scooter India vice-president (sales & marketing) Atul Gupta. Clearly hot wheels are no longer just about cars. The craze for these bikes, which have so far been bought by actors, sports stars and businessmen, is now beginning to trickle down to more ordinary folks as well. Commanding premium pricing starting from Rs 10.50 lakh and going up to Rs 50 lakh, cruisers are suddenly the cooler equivalent of an imported car117 bikesHonda

Dude, this article was posted more for the lesser informed members on this forum who are unaware of such details (I for one didnt know that the companies were doing these numbers, I was quite surprised to say the least) than for guys who were already aware of the actual numbers each company was doing till date.Originally posted by Samarth 619 View PostI say it will Boom, due to these reasons:-->

Anyways with more guys buying these legal bikes, the more "first ownership posts" of R1's & Hayabusas & Fireblades we read (which never fail to give me goosebumps) & in turn more of us will refuse to let go of our dreams of owning a bike like this in the chase of the great Indian dream of - finish you education , get a good job, get settled and start a family all in the space of 8 - 10 years. Its a win win situation !

Let's ask the candidates to offer relaxation on import duties for our votes? What say?

Jokes Apart, I think this can be a serious idea, if well planned.
In fact, we can start such a campaign. But we need numbers...
