None.Originally posted by funkyfreak View PostWhat are the challenges / liability as buyers/owners of these non-complaint machines? Just wanted to have some information on this.
Just that manufacturers cannot sell a non BS4 complaint bike post Apr so they have to clear the stock.
btw, over 50k discount on Z250 also.Contribute to the environment.

Saved up for the 650F in 2016 and was waiting for the discounts... never happened. Blew my backbone and spent a good $$$ on medical bills out of it. Now I get to hear this. Very depressing.

Re: Huge discounts on the Kawasaki er6n and the Honda cbr 650
I'm quite tempted by this, so I had a word with my friend who owns a Versys 650 about the worth of these bikes after the discounts. His straight feedback really made a lot of sense. I was inclined with Er6N.
1) both these machines were overpriced as is for what's on offer, so this is actually a corrected price.
2) none have ABS & neither have any striking performance to talk of nor any specific features etc.
3) neither have cheap maintenance.
4) the New Duke 390 makes a lot more sense than these 2.
5) he asked me a simple question.... would you have looked at these bikes if it were not for the discounts? if no then they have nothing to offer other than discount & no sense buying them then!!!

When you say "These two" you mean the ER6N and the Versys? If so you'd be correct.Originally posted by Kaushik Iyer View PostI'm quite tempted by this, so I had a word with my friend who owns a Versys 650 about the worth of these bikes after the discounts. Because otherwise your friend needs to update his knowledge on bikes before he gives any advice to folks out there.
2) Incorrect. The CBR has ABS and an immobilizer(HISS) as standard. 0-60kmph in 3.6 seconds and a top speed of 248kph which is pretty fast for any Indian road.
3) Incorrect again. HMSI offers 3 free services(labor only free) for the first 3 service intervals(upto 18k kms I think with 6k kms service intervals). After that period the service bills are expected to cost between 5-6k which is still cheaper than the competition by a mile. The major service is at 24000kms.
4) Totally different segments.
As for the service comparisons, follow this thread:

Some very good points. Just one minor (or major) correction - the 2016 Versys (India) is equipped with ABS.Originally posted by Nithesh View PostWhen you say "These two" you mean the ER6N and the Versys? If so you'd be correct.

So, both the CBR650F and the Versys 650 are ABS equipped. Both are very different segments. One is sports touring, and very high performance. The other is an adv style, quarter fairing bike, shares the same engine as the Ninja 650 and the ER6n.
The maintenance on the Honda is by far the cheapest of any of these sub litre class bikes. One can refer to Rachit's posts in XBHP and TBHP for cost breakdowns.
The Kawasaki is more expensive to maintain, but then again, if you can afford the elephant, you should be able to afford to feed it
.
Good post from you. People should not be sharing advise without knowing what each segment/bikes are for at their price points etc.

Hey friend
Yes, the feedback does make sense depending on the budget at hand and your current ride. (Continental GT rite ?)
(1) + (5) The discount offered (50k - 1lakh) definitely makes it all the more reason to look towards upgrading to parallel twin/ I-4 cylinders if you are a buyer. Otherwise its just extra hard earned money to be thrown away in the name of taxes - No ?
(2) + (3) Ask yourself "What striking features you want in your next bike - Looks/ Power/ Torque/ Abs/ Slipper clutch/ Maintenance ?" And select accordingly because any number of extra features are just going to give you bragging rights. You know from your riding experience how much you can push the limits.
(4) I believe it depends on the availability of those pink coloured notes everyone's so doubtful of
.
If you have 2.5 ready cash then the new D390 because a loan would nullify the discounts on a new Er6n.

Re: Huge discounts on the Kawasaki er6n and the Honda cbr 650
Again, both different HP segments. You would have to consider your power needs. Both are naked street style motorcycles.Originally posted by Kaushik Iyer View PostI'm sorry when I said These two I meant the ER6n & the another kawaker Z250, as I was consideting them both due to discounts. Sorry if this wasn't clear in my earlier post.
If you're not interested in top end, you could even consider the FZ25, which is a really good bike (slightly underpowered, but torquey and with a proven engine), or the Dominar.

Re: Huge discounts on the Kawasaki er6n and the Honda cbr 650
The discounts offered is only on the limited bikes left with the various dealers.
Like in Delhi (C.P showroom) they aren't offering any discounts. Only 15k off on the Z250.
When asked about the new stock - he simply refused that it won't come.
