So, Mi CEO Lei Jun teases a smart bike on their Facebook page, just before he leaves India. Jun speaks about how it is a "smart end to your driving woes". I assume he means heavy traffic, navigation problems, running costs, etc?
Anyhow, the silhouette at the end of the video shows something like a sportsbike's tank and seat. It could well be an electric motorcycle too, seeing how Mi's service is not everywhere.
But, the obvious question arises, is it real or a well made April Fool joke?
Let's evaluate both the sides...
Since some time now, Mi have been talking of a smartbike with various sensors and trackers which aims to improve your everyday commute to an altogether new convenience level.... It is highly unlikely that a reputed company would lie for months together just for a April fool's day....
Plus, they have already launched a smart cycle in 2016 in China. Being called the Chinese Apple, they have the resources to do it.
In the contrary, even a huge corporation like Google made a "Self Driving cycle" video which looked so genuine from the starting, but it blew its cover by the end... So, when Google can, why can't Mi?
Anyhow, I will rest my case and make you the judges... Watch the video and the on going discussion here :-
What do you think, Xbhpians?
Did they choose a wrong day to announce a true launch? Or are they just joking after all?
