Well, the Junior Panigale has almost become the Litre class, and perhaps it had to, as the world progresses.. The wet weight now stands at 195 kgs though, although there's weight saving potential in aftermarket exhausts apparently.

This 899 Panigale was restroked, and slightly reengineered with new parts, so that a new Euro IV compliant Ducati doesn't make less power than older one. And truly so....



Gone are the days, when media used to compare Ducati 749/ 848 to 600cc sportsbikes. Today, it would be basically pointless seeing a 955cc's power curve float over the 600cc crowd like a kite string.
I guess, they should've kept a junior Panigale in the 600-900cc range, but whether or not such a bike is needed now, only Ducati can say.

It's beautiful! I loved the looks of the bike with Akrapovic Titanium exhaust which I'm sure costs a bomb. Hope they manage to fix the heating issues that were reported for 899 exhaust.
