  • Max Biaggi former World Superbike Champion injured

    Max Biaggi, a former World Superbike Champion has been badly injured while training with two young Moto3 riders on the Sagittario track in Latina.

    According to the Italian media report, he was being treated for broken shoulders with suspected thoracic and spinal trauma. Biaggi was immediately airlifted to the San Camillo Hospital in Rome.

    Also, the report says that his injuries are serious but not life-threatening, he was conscious after the accident even though the incident was referred to as 'Code Red'.

    45 years old, Biaggi retired from racing in 2012. He won the World Superbike Championship in 2010 and 2012. He was also four times champion in the 250cc class of the MotoGP series.

    This has been a sad month, what with the loss of Nicky Hayden, Dave Lambert and a couple of other riders at the Isle of Mann and now Biaggi injured.
