Celebrating India's freedom with a ride where women riders celebrated the freedom to ride in a what has traditionally been a male dominated activity. It was wonderful to see these women breaking stereotypes and doing what they love. We salute them and hope that they will inspire many more women to take up motorcycling!
xBhp caught up with WIMA (Women's International Motorcycle Association) before the flag-off of their Independence Day ride. Some of the riders even had come all the way from Lucknow and Aligarh. We had a quick chat with them, you can watch the video of that conversation below:
WIMA is an international organisation dedicated to women bikers which was founded in the 1950s in USA. Over the decades it has grown in stature and size and is present in very many countries of the world.
We will now let the pictures do the talking!
