  • Sana Iqbal, the brand ambassador of happiness is no more.

Sana Iqbal, the brand ambassador of happiness is no more with us.

As much as it pains losing a fellow biker, the bad news must be typed, with a heavy heart, hands and eyes.

Many of you might remember Sana Iqbal, passing though many cities and towns of India on her all India ride, on her White Royal Enfield motorcycle.

Sana Iqbal, who did a cross country "Spread Happiness" ride, is unfortunately no more with us. Sana died in a car accident on Tuesday morning on the outskirts of the city Hyderabad.

Sana, a mother, faced a bitter divorce which caused her to fall into depression and even contemplate suicide. But she eventually fought her way out of depression and continued to inspire thousands of students across the nation.

Sana was known for her crusade against suicide and depression and covered nearly 38,000 kms across the country to give inspirational speeches in schools and colleges.
Pursuing her masters in psychology along with corporate training sessions on behavioral skills, she definitely had the credentials to match her mission, but she still didn't ask for any money for her interactive sessions. Instead, her ride was donation-funded.

In a country where more students die of suicide than of accidents, Sana came as a blessing to thousands of souls who felt that no one was listening to their heart...

I myself personally recollect a depressed person from Chandigarh, who was coached over phone for a long time by Sana and me and 2 more persons. This guy was depressed because a big hotel in New Delhi confiscated his original documents and his experience certificate as an expert Cook (He even made food for US ex-Prez Obama once).

And ultimately, this "Cook" guy recovered, with the help of his parents (who had to be counselled too) and got married to his girlfriend of many years...

As a memory of Sana, I'm attaching a document which she made to introduce people about her mission of spreading happiness.

Rest in Peace Sana. You will not be forgotten.

About Depression: Guys, the most common mistake that we do towards a depressed person is lecturing them. Saying things like, "its no big deal, come on", "everything's gonne be fine", "chill", "Are you crazy?" or worst case scenario, laugh at the depressed person or ridicule them. We fail as a Society when we do so.
We have no idea as to what hardships the person has faced, and we easily forget that words don't heal people, actions do.

So, the next time you see a depressed person, don't even mention the word "depression" or "cure". Don't let the person know you're curing him/her. Act normal.
Tell that person to write something about him/ herself, background, and things which have been occupying his/ her mind for some time. Try and see if the reason of depression is mentioned there or not. See if it is curable.

For example, Acne can be cured by specialist doctors (in few months maybe).
Excessively Fat or Thin body can be cured using diet plans, or products like Herbalife.

Further, try to get him/ her involved in some work that brings actual happiness, like tell that person to serve for 3 days at an old age home or an orphanage, or give that person a pet dog or cat, arrange a tour for that person to forgot all his/ her worries.

You can't cure depression by lecturing them to be happy. Try to make them do things that give happiness....

This is all I can say from my experience with Sana. Apart from this, there are certain happiness exercises that one can do regularly to be happy.

Please note: There have been multiple reports about the cause of her death, some differing from those in the media. Some even showed a photo of the car with no frontal damage. Some people are talking about a note she left to her closed ones, about her husband's behavior.
I know that things seem heavily suspicious at the moment, but please remember that we are nobody's judges and we shouldn't jump to conclusions, that we regret later.
I would request you all to not post such material here and respect the family's privacy and sentiments in this hard time.

Xbhp salutes the legendary lady rider, and may God bless her spirit...

Guys, please pour over your positive interactions or your tributary message...
