  • Benelli Leoncino 250 unveiled! #EICMA2017

Featuring the same grit and attitude as the rest of the family, this Leoncino reinterprets that mix of heritage, design, and innovation in a truly unique way. We're talking about the new Leoncino 250, the smallest in the series, a bike that is easy to ride, intuitive, accessible, and extremely modern. Tradition and innovation find their highest expression here, for a classic motorcycle redesigned in a modern key. The classic becomes contemporary in a "small" compact and dynamic bike, with the unique character that is typical of the Leoncino. The beating heart of the Leoncino 250 is the same single-cylinder four-stroke liquid-cooled 250 cc engine that equips the rest of the category in the Benelli range. The timing features double overhead camshaft with 4 valves per cylinder, electronic injection with 37 mm diameter throttle body, wet clutch and
6 speed gearbox. Maximum power and torque are respectively 25.8 hp (19 kW) at 9250 rpm and 21.2 Nm (2.16 kgm) at 8000 rpm.

The Leoncino 250 stands out thanks to its style. The steel tube trellis frame fits perfectly with the tank design, offering balanced and dynamic surfaces, as does the tail guard, extremely compact. The seat is comfortable and spacious, following the lines of the bike, and the instrument panel is completely digital. The lights are LEDs. Like the rest of the range, the Leoncino 250 features a proud, stylised lion on the front mudguard, recalling the history of this model.

The suspensions of the Leoncino 250 consist of an upside down fork on the front with 41 diameter legs, while the back end has
    a swinging arm with central
monoshock with 51 mm travel. The braking system has a single 280 mm diameter floating disc with four-piston callipers on the front and a 240 mm diameter disc with single-piston floating calliper on the back. The bike is also obviously equipped with ABS. The 17" aluminium alloy rims mount 110/70-R17 and 150/60-R17 tyres respectively, ensuring maximum road safety.

Leoncino 250 will be available from the second half of 2018. The price is yet to be determined.

This would be a Scrambler design I believe not a Cafe racer, and yes lot of them coming up now with similar design. Indian manufacturers however staying away from it

          Benelli's design awfully similar to Huqsvarna's Nuda 900 -

Interestingly enough, I was thinking of the Vitpilen 401, when I saw this.

Yes! That's the one I was looking for in the first place, I failed at google

The other Benelli offerings at the EICMA also seem to have borrowed design elements from other manufacturers, for eg their 402S, looks like a mini Ducati Diavel
