  • Pulsar AS200 deliveries halted/discontinued?

The Bajaj Pulsar AS200 Discontinued? That is the information being given by Bajaj Showrooms in various parts of the country.

A few xBhpians from different parts of the the country, who have tried to purchase the Pulsar AS200, have reported that the bike is not available in their respective cities (For example, this post, this post, & this post). The same response has been received from the showrooms, that production of the bike has been stopped. Showrooms then either offer a bike which they have in stock, else offer the AS150 as a replacement. On being questioned, the showrooms have no idea when the bike will be available again.

But one Swallow does not a summer make and therefore in Delhi, xBhp called up multiple showrooms of the city and enquired as to the availability of the Pulsar AS200. We received the same response as well.

Does this mean, that the Pulsar AS200 has been discontinued permanently? It could be that Bajaj is trying to clear the current stock of the AS200, maybe for an upgrade to the existing bike. FI and ABS would be a welcome addition to the bike. If such is the case, then Bajaj would want to clear existing stock, before re-launching the bike during the festive season. This could also be a temporary effect due to the production of the soon to be launched 400cc Pulsar.

We will wait and watch whether the Pulsar AS200 will make its way back in the Indian market or not. Since it is quite surprising that the bike which has been in the market for a little more than a year would be pulled off the production line so fast. xBhp had reviewed the Pulsar AS200 and AS150 last year in Lavasa. Last year the NS200 had been replaced by the AS200, people expected that to be a temporary as well, but so far we haven't seen the NS return. Is there an outside chance that the NS will make a return?

We are trying to verify the same news with our members from various cities. Let us know in the comments below or on our forum if you have been able to purchase a Pulsar AS200 in any part of the country within the last 2 weeks, or if you have also received the same reply from your local dealer.

    Re: Pulsar AS200 deliveries halted/discontinued?

Last Sunday as200 was not available in the Dehradun, the dealer told truck is on the way and today I got a call that shipment has arrived and ask for which colour I want to purchase it means all the colors are available . however still it doesn't clear the doubt if it has been discontinued or not or dealer has got them from another city to clear the stock.
If anyone knows any way to confirm if they have been sent from the factory I will go and check on Sunday

When I enquired at showrooms in Trivandrum, they said that AS's production has stopped for now and they have no clue whether the AS would be back. They also told that the NS would return with some upgrades

thats a shocking surprise and company does not want to clarify it, put things in doubt.

similarly even NS was stopped without any official confirmation from Bajaj. Important thing to note is that both the bikes are still visible on Bajaj Website. i had even wrote an e-mail to customer care for NS, but did not get any reply.

went to the dealer on Sunday ,they said they have not received any news about discontinuation of as200,however they were told by bajaj before discontinuation of ns.As I was having no means to check their version of truth or no concrete proof .I too had emailed to bajaj but got no reply

            LOL
A bike which needs to be discontinued is still in production and who needs to be in the market is discontinued.
            I dont understand 😜

By the way I am yet to see as200 in real here in dehradun ,may be sell is not going well in 2nd and 3rd tier cities which has forced the bajaj to stop it

One really needs to kick Bajaj for their careless attitude towards customers. If they continue the trend of instability if product line , then they may lose customer's confidence & take toll on already weak sales. From here on I will be afraid to go for Bajaj products.

You cannot kick them that is why they stopped providing kick in their most of the models☺
Problem is that if you want to keep a halted model for long time then finding spare part will be not that easy and if you want to sell then it will get very low amount.
More over I finalized as200 or 220 and still I do not know the future of 220 too

I would have gone for it ,if they had not borrowed the pillion seat from earlier version of r15

You are mistaken my friend nobody is bajaj hater here,in fact if bajaj clears the confusion I will go and buy as200 but I want them make it clear before the festive season and not after that and exactly what they did for ns.
By the way how would you feel that a particular model of anything is stopped the very next day you purchased it

Dear if you are serous enough in buying the product then its no issue..as all of us know..for a product to be discontinued..the company should make the spares savailable for atleast 10 years..and since its a 200cc engine almost all the new products which Bajaj would launch will share 99% of the component...and take my word since its a 200cc engine it will be there in market maybe not in this model but in some or the other product which bajaj launches...and if at all they go ahead and discontinue this model..they will surely launch the 200NS...as its being rumoured. They just cant leave a void in the 200cc segment..can they?

You are right the company should make the spares savailable for atleast 10 years but that statement is 100% valid in countries which have stringent laws to protect the customer .On practical note ,3years back i could not find front rim for Activa(most selling gearless scooter ) for my friend and we had to get it from scrape dealer.I am not concerned about engine, i know they can last several year, manufactured by Indian companies since i do not find them inferior to their Japanese counterpart and what if visor get broken .so i am not getting enough courage to spend 1 lakh especially when picture will be clear near Diwali.Till than i will keep cursing every two wheeler manufactures.
