A few xBhpians from different parts of the the country, who have tried to purchase the Pulsar AS200, have reported that the bike is not available in their respective cities (For example, this post, this post, & this post). The same response has been received from the showrooms, that production of the bike has been stopped. Showrooms then either offer a bike which they have in stock, else offer the AS150 as a replacement. On being questioned, the showrooms have no idea when the bike will be available again.
But one Swallow does not a summer make and therefore in Delhi, xBhp called up multiple showrooms of the city and enquired as to the availability of the Pulsar AS200. We received the same response as well.
Does this mean, that the Pulsar AS200 has been discontinued permanently? It could be that Bajaj is trying to clear the current stock of the AS200, maybe for an upgrade to the existing bike. FI and ABS would be a welcome addition to the bike. If such is the case, then Bajaj would want to clear existing stock, before re-launching the bike during the festive season. This could also be a temporary effect due to the production of the soon to be launched 400cc Pulsar.
We will wait and watch whether the Pulsar AS200 will make its way back in the Indian market or not. Since it is quite surprising that the bike which has been in the market for a little more than a year would be pulled off the production line so fast. xBhp had reviewed the Pulsar AS200 and AS150 last year in Lavasa. Last year the NS200 had been replaced by the AS200, people expected that to be a temporary as well, but so far we haven't seen the NS return. Is there an outside chance that the NS will make a return?
We are trying to verify the same news with our members from various cities. Let us know in the comments below or on our forum if you have been able to purchase a Pulsar AS200 in any part of the country within the last 2 weeks, or if you have also received the same reply from your local dealer.
