I haven't seen this Dyno test. But just curious to know how a 3ps power difference creates 10hp advantage.
      The R3 has 42ps @10750rpm
      While the N400 has 45.6ps @10000rpm

Kindly look closely at the actual real world rear wheel HP and not what the company sales brochure says............... and you will know how 3ps=10hp

Thanks for the link. Wow! Those are some amazing numbers! No loss of power, quite literally. While the rest of the bikes lose around 6-7hp.

Yeah, all the numbers are fine. But the fact is, the 300 was a log to move around. Hope the 400 isn't the same.

I doubt about the pricing. IM, it will be costlier than the N300. Hence R3 might be the best option.

Besides, there is higher taxation for bikes with 350+ CC engines, so N400 would be singnificantly more expensive.

It's a heavy bike, hard to carry around corners and traffic. That's what I meant. The R3 has far more nimble handling then that for sure.

Any idea when is it likely to hit stores and what would be the OTR price in Pune?

You should see how I run circles around splendours and pulsars, it sure has less torque below 4k but it just a matter of twisting the throttle to get it where it comes alive.

You surely can do that. I am talking of a comparison. In that, the R3 is certainly better. I wonder how a forum for the R3 became a discussion about a Ninja.

Deliveries are starting in 1st or 2nd week of March in Bangalore. I booked it on 10th Feb (the next day after launch). OTR in Maharashtra could be around 3.9L as I heard.
In Bangalore it's about 4.4L as per the showroom where I booked it. All thanks to higher taxes in Karnataka.

It's the journey that matters, not the destination.

Just called My Yamaha in Malad, I was informed that the bookings haven’t started as they are yet to get the bike and they haven’t received the price list as well.

Went to Margao-Goa Yamaha Showroom today to get quotes for R3 surprised to see sloppy sale team who had no idea about anything .

First i went to Pratik motors was told firmly they dint have price breakup of the bike and team was also not sure when they will get such information , Sales rep didn't even bother to take my number i left and went to Yamaha website and found their is another dealer who is shown as R3 dealer for my area

Went to second showroom , found sloppy sales reps who were busy in their own work . Had to interrupt them to get their attention . When asked for R3 Quotation i was surprised i got it in seconds but i was immediately told its not in stock and will take 3 months i was shocked and asked if their is huge waiting they said company has fewer units , was told pay 10k as booking amount and wait for 3 months .

I left the showroom but after close inspection i found ex-showroom mentioned as 326280 i went back in immediately , when i told staff its ex-showroom launch price was told as 348000 , only then they released they had given me old price and when i pressured only then they decided to check with Yamaha which they couldn't go through after repeated attempts . they finally took my number and told i will get a call back from them soon .

I am not sure if this sales guy will be able to get me R3 in time frame , it seems they are busy selling non-gears got Honda dealership vibe from them .
