Honda states that the motorcycle industry has returned to double digit growth for the first time in 6 years. As a result of which the festive buying sentiment was strong across segments. Within the regions, Western region once again led the festive buying followed by South and Central regions.
When it comes specifically to models, Activa led the sales strongly. Activa is already one of the highest selling two-wheeler in India and the same was reflected on its festive sales. In motorcycles, the most popular choice from Honda’s stable was CB Shine. CB Shine is also the only 125cc motorcycle that has a place in the top 3 motorcycles from a sales point of view.

World Record by Honda
Honda 2Wheelers India’s total sales grew at 22% from 5,008,230 units in FY’2016-17 to 6,123,886 units in FY’2017-18. Honda’s domestic sales crossed 4,725,067 units in FY’2016-17 to ever highest of 5,775,243 units in FY’2017-18. Exports also crossed the 3 lakh threshold for the first time and increased 23% in FY’2017-18. (As per SIAM data and HMSI internal study).
