A new Apache, A new Sport and a new Flame—TVS Motor is refreshing all its motorcycle brands to build its position in a market which is recovering from the slump. The Apache 180 that will debut soon, will be followed by the Sport, which TVS has created from the earlier brand called Star Sport. TVS has kept the Star name only for the Star City. And the other significant launch will be the re-entry of Flame by early June. The new Flame will have a more refined engine and with a suffix to its name. The company has already started destocking the bike from dealerships and hopes to restart with a modest monthly volume of 7,000 units initially. All these new steps for a modest growth in market share.
“It's safe to assume that we are looking at increasing market share by about 2% for the year. So, to that extent, these brands will help us in giving us the volume and drive growth,” HS Goindi, Head-Sales and Marketing, TVS Motor.
And, the new Flame's share in it is expected to touch 10,000 units per month by December. While all these brands are being revived, TVS Motor's first indigenous brand—Victor is being discontinued, at least in the domestic market.

Well, this is what was really needed by TVS.I was wondering why TVS wasn't proactive in pushing the Flame as a product and this is a good excuse.I am expecting the RTR monicker to flaunt the Flame's badge now!!

A new Star is also a welcome addition as it would give TVS the numbers they anticipate.TVS is now selling only 50-55k motorcycles as compared to the heydays where they were selling 80-85k units(only Victors and Max100s).And again a 100cc scooter is in the offing which would further strengthen the already strong scooter marketshare of TVS.

),Disco135.Wonder what Sport is exactly.Maybe the 125cc that I'm thinking about.
