Not actually, He compared it to a CRF 250 which is little unfair considering it is a fully dirt bike. He complains about a lot of little things but forgets it is a small 300c single which is targetted mainly for urban and occasional soft offroading.

Yeah, I'm just saying because its a similar powered machine plus it's made in india [emoji4] he had some praises for that in his review. Yes, it's more of a soft roader than off roader the comparison wasn't entirely fair. The engine seems to be a bit gruff it felt strained though.

The thing is, that bike has none to very little market in his country. 300cc single is barely a big deal over there, over here it IS. He compared the GS with teh CRF and X300 which are in the same category but different price points. Obviously CRF is exclusive for dirt riding but thats the aspect he focused on while giving an impression on the GS.

But he did talk about the infamous vibrations (as in RR310) plus how buzzy the bike gets post 7k rpm (because it’s a single)

He did talk about he is was not able to corner because of the softer suspension and he is not able even to stand on the foot pegs.

Though I have booked the twins but I think I am gonna sit this one out. I am not gonna buy the bmw badge just for the sake of it. I hope test drive of the GS could change my perception otherwise.

Same here. Booked the GS 310 but I am going to wait for the on road price to make my decision.

3.5 on road seems fine but anything more will be a deal breaker and from what I am reading on the net, it may very well cost close to 4 on road. I really really hope that ain't the case here.

On a side note, I doubt one can escape from paying the cost of the BMW badge. How much is one willing to pay is going to be the question.

I did the pre-booking of GS but will go ahead only after the test ride and looking at on road price. We have 14 days post the release to cancel the booking.

                    My guess for price is
                    G310 Rs.3.5 lakhs on road
GS 310 Rs.3.75-4.0 lakhs on road.

Anything above 3.5 for a single cylinder is waste of money.

Since R3 is available for approx. 4L OTR, IMHO it really doesn't make sense to pay more than 3.3 OTR for this. Let's see how BMW prices this one...

btw, here is something i came across from bmw site, choose the G 310 R model and you can browse thru the parts. interesting, even shows the prices (in $ , might not be the same pricing in India) !
