  • A 1929 supercharged BMW overtaking a 1953 Norton Manx: Priceless

The actions of Romano Fenati seem to be resonating all over the world. Apart from the outrage and the hatred being hurled on the man that has been ruling the sports media for the past week, there are some funny things going on as well. So, Troy Corser, one of the best racers of his time, took part in the Goodwood Revival race and re-enacted Fenati’s move, except he didn’t grab his rival racer’s brakes. Rather, he did something ‘cheeky’. Below is the video, those who do not wish to see the race of beautiful vintage motorcycles can watch from 4:45 to see what exactly Corser did.

WATCH TROY CORSER RE-ENACT FENATI, IN A GOOD WAY

Goodwood revival is an annual celebration of all things vintage. All kinds of vehicles from the eras bygone are featured in this event. This weekend as well, Cars, motorcycles, planes, steam trains and tractors from yesteryear lined up at the Chichester festival this weekend. Apart from these vintage thing-ies racing, there is a display of these fantastic vintage vehicles in the exhibition.

Among the races as well, there are two motorcycle races- two-part Barry Sheene Memorial Trophy. For motorcycles of a type that raced up until 1954, this event featured 30 bikes – each with two riders, swapping halfway through the race – with a race taking place on both Saturday and Sunday mornings.

These races have a Le Mans style start i.e. the riders run to their bikes and jump aboard as soon as the flag is dropped. Bikes like Norton Manxs of the 50s racing against Brough Superior SS100s and BMW R57 Compressors hailing from 1920s. And the racers line-up consisted of many names two of which were Troy Corser and John McGuiness. And the most amazing this is, as old as these bikes are, they still reached speeds in excess of 120 mph.

Saturday’s race was won by John McGuiness on their Norton Manx. But on Sunday, the victor was taken by Troy Corser who was riding the supercharged BMW from 1929, the R57 Compressor.
