Yeah! I wish it had spoke + tubeless tires like recently launched suzuki v storm 650. Aftermarket alloy can be fitted but i doubt about their quality.Originally posted by Jackharrisw View Post

Yes, on today's age especially for touring, tubeless tires are almost a must. Can't tubeless tires fitted on spoke rims ?Originally posted by #bpk View PostI wish if it had a option of tubeless tires [emoji28][emoji28]

I agree, they have to do some work on their marketing skills, my cousin bro has Mojo and swears by its touring capabilities, he previously had RE which gave up on him during Leh touring.Originally posted by aamaadmi View PostHowever seeing Mahindra's track record, I half expect them to botch this up badly. Somehow they never manage to capture the popular imagination, no matter how good their product. I truly wish this become a swift kick up RE's behind, that they seem to sorely need in the Indian market. However bear in mind RE isn't doing too badly recently. The love of Gora people's money has done what no river of Indian consumer tears was able to do
. Their latest launches that they also sell overseas seem to all be decent.
Mahindra has to the three fold challenge of building an excellent product, pricing it just right, and reaching people with their marketing if they want to be a serious contender in this space. While as an enthusiast I am firmly behind anyone bringing solid choices to the Indian motorcyclist, I will not hold my breath in anticipation of a segment shakeup.
All the best Mahindra and Jawa!
But yes my point is, we badly need a retro look bike to shake up market share of RE to force them to do something with their offerings.

The original post says it is liquid cooled. The fins are probably for aesthetics only.Originally posted by Ankey View PostForgive me if I'm wrong brother, but the engine in the pictures above has fins, which are only present in the air cooled engines. .

Also note it's a single cylinder engine with 2 exhaust pipes.Originally posted by Ankey View PostForgive me if I'm wrong brother, but the engine in the pictures above has fins, which are only present in the air cooled engines. A liquid cooled engine does not need those fins. Have they specified that it is a liquid cooled unit? I was under the impression that it will be air/oil cooled one (just by looking at the pictures of course).
All this was done to give it that iconic look.

The design element actually inherits the retro looks and that's about it. Regarding the liquid cooling part, look closely at the front shot of the engine, you can spot the plumbing for the water jacket.Originally posted by Ankey View PostForgive me if I'm wrong brother, but the engine in the pictures above has fins, which are only present in the air cooled engines. Underneath that, it is all the liquid cooling mechanism.
Bonneville did the same thing with their engines - retro looks, modern machines.

But being liquid cooled it will have to have a radiator, which can spoil the classic looks unless properly done.
Anyhow let us wait and watch. I also think this will be a reworked engine of Mojo, because that engine also came from a Italian company that Mahindra had bought.

Wow. Lovely detailing on that engine. The brand name itself should give them an equal footing against RE in terms of nostalgia and feel. The reliable and effortless engine should be the deal maker.

This new engine has been built from scratch and shares its bore and stroke with the existing Mahindra Mojo 300cc mill. The engine will be BS6 ready and will focus on long-term reliability. It looks to bring back the sound and the charm of the original Jawa in a rather modern avatar. As we mentioned the engine is a 300cc unit and will make around 27 Bhp and 28 Nm of torque. It has also been ensured that it has a nice & flat powerband like the original Jawa.

Wish it were a 2 stroke.....
