Similar incident happened here in delhi NCR also. the bike was harley and on pretext of taking a test ride, the accused never returned. what can be done to protect the seller from this?
        1. ID proof of the buyer
        2. safe location?
        3. token amount?

ID Proof is fine, but going for a safe location and collecting token amount is not professional conduct.

The Demo bike can be rigged with a GPS, and an Employee from teh Dealership can tail the bike while the prospective buyer takes a TestRide on it. Once again, letting the employee sit as pillion instead of tailing on another bike is not professional conduct.

Never give your bike or any ride to anyone, alone

Always sit with them and accompany them... It's our own property and we shouldn't blindly hand it over to anyone in any possible way

My few cents on the same

Always ensure that the buyer COME TO YOUR(Seller) PREFERRED CHOICE OF LOCATION. Not the other way around.

Always ensure THE MONEY HAS BEEN TRANSFERRED COMPLETELY before giving solo ride or handing over the keys.

              Cheers
