Most of the people buying RE knows ZERO about motorcycle, they just wanted a "Bullet" and ended up buying classic 350.

I am afraid if they can read "Jawa" on the motorcycle they won't buy it. All they want is something that is good for showing off, and I don't know how good a Jawa will be, their friend circle and the chicks around them never heard the name.

Well, Let's just hope we wouldn't have to baby our motorcycles, and can have a relatively worry free ownership. If it's as good as the Mojo, I'd be quite nice.

Well, around 10 years back, no one(Read - Youngsters, software professionals) in a Metro city like Chennai neither know about Bullet nor interested in it. The whole scenario changed only with the introduction of Classic 350 and Thunderbird. Today these same young people, IT professionals ride happily in their Bullets. These people just want a classic, macho looking motorcycle and I think definitely JAWA has both these traits in abundance.

Where JAWA will overtake RE is with it's much more refined liquid cooled Mojo engine and a good top end for highway cruising. Let's keep the vibrator(ENGINE) and Reliability discussion of Royal Enfield for another day .

Why does it matter what anybody needs to knows about a motorcycle, if they like it and have the money they will buy it period.
I am not talking about people's attraction to RE but RE's attraction to vintage and whether Jawa did the right thing by going similar way.

The die hard fans of RE will boast about the royal appeal of the bike. But many people (including many RE owners) want a retro looking bike better than RE. Apparently jawa ticks the right boxes. I don't expect Jawa to overtake the sales of RE (atleast at the beginning months). But Mahindra is definitely on the right track.

It should matter when a company starts cheating people by selling them sub-standard parts and products. Check the REs that are exported to other countries, they have different quality standard for them, whereas most of the Japanese brands use the same standard. As I remember, an R15 or SZR is exported to Japan or Philippines with the same quality standard as what we buy here.

And then there are REs with broken pegs, rusted chassis, bent frame, fouled injectors, locked disces, and water and rust cogged fuel tank. Do you believe that? The fuel cap ring rust for classic 350 and himalayan goes directly into fuel tank!!!

Proudly hate RE for their product quality.

Sad News for Indians

RE really deserves a competitor ; it will benefit RE as well since they will be forced to upgrade their tech in order to compete with Jawa.

I dont think it will be a sad news, as we will be getting much better Mojo Engine! with some good exhaust note
Mojo based engine will make much more power and will be refined as well. ( Remember Mojo engine was developed By Engines Engineering, Italy)
Moreover the Indian model looks much more true to the original model and also will come in 4 variants ( scrambler, adventure etc.)

The Jawa and Jawa Forty Two have been launched in India today. Ex Delhi prices are Rs 1.64 lakh and Rs 1.55 lakh. The perak will launch at later date at Rs 1.89 lakh

Pricing is 1.55 ex showroom Delhi which is ok I think. So people have an alternative to RE 350 and with proven reliability and refinement of Mojo engine.
