In January 2017, Yamaha has launched the YZF R15 in Indonesia. From then it was expected that soon the same will be launched in India. Yet Yamaha has come up with FZ25 in the mid year. And Yahama didn't specify anything about the new launch of the YZF R15 V3 during the launch of FZ25.
Recently, YZF R15 V3 had been spotted testing on Indian roads. YZF R3 was discontinued in India after BSIV emission standards got implemented. And it is expected that the new version will have ABS according to the source.
The new R15 V3 looks even more stylish and more powerful but a slight reduction in the torque by 0.3 Nm. As it is seen in Indonesia launch, there was no ABS and mostly ABS will not come on the check list in India. But in April 2018 all bikes more than 125cc will have to feature ABS as per government regulations. It comes with a slipper clutch.
The bikes are expected to be launched at or before Auto Expo 2018.
