  • HMSI has launched BS6 Shine SP

A couple of days ago, HMSI launched Shine SP/BS6:

Discover Honda SP 125 bike, a stylish and fuel-efficient 125cc motorcycle with advanced features, digital meter, and great mileage. Explore specs & price now!

    1. Brand new engine, a departure from the erstwhile CBF125 series - with easily replaceable paper oil filer and ACG tech - No starter motor.
    2. Integrated Engine kill/starter switch.
    3. Integrated pass light/dipper switch.
    4. Gear position indicator with fully digital speedometer console.
    5. Hornet like LED headlamp, looks good, DC.
    6. Engine has piston cooling jet that sprays engine oil underside the piston to enhance cooling - present in outgoing engine as well, but not advertized.
    7. Honda mentions "low maintenance sealed chain" - I guess they are referring to the chain covers and not o-ring'ed chain.

      Main thing you missed mentioning

      8. Gets Fi as standard, no carb version even as an option. For going BS6 all manufacturers need to convert to Fi to get the required combustion efficiency.
      R.I.P carb commuter bikes

It will be a miracle if we get to see a bike/scooter with BS6 compliance having carb!

Yes Krishna. It will be interesting to see whether they will provide new engines for Unicorn and Hornet/Xblade with ACG or simply equip them with Fi. These engines already have Fi versions in other parts of the world. What surprised me is the stubborn HMSI finally providing engine kill and GPI on SP. Cheap plastic bar end weights remain.

Answer to this is your own 1st post, now that there is no longer a dedicated armature based stater motor and now uses ACG starter.

Honda figures it's finally time now that there will be less load on Battery each time you decide to use Kill switch to turn off the bike and start it again, consumes less fuel each time you crank the engine, so that people won't complain about no more premature worn armature and carbon bushes in the starter motor.

So people are now blessed to to kill switch.

The old daddy CBR has very less demands. Gixxer sf 250 and Duke 250 from above has destroyed this bike. It's high time to launch CBR 300R with international CBR 150R styling
