As of now, details about the 450X are scarce, but most of us expect it to be faster, smarter and more expensive too, than the 450 which is already out.

In other words, delivery will go first to the people who use the invite code right now. If anyone needs it, send me a PM...

LIVE UPDATE FROM LAUNCH:-

More than 60 Lakh kilometres done by Ather vehicles on road till date,

The battery is upgraded from 18650 to 21700 form factor, (better power and energy density, 2.7 kWh to 2.9 kWh now)

450X range increased from (75-107 kms per charge to 85-116 kms per charge) (on road-certified)

Power up from 5.4 KW to 6 KW.... Torque up from 20.5NM to 26NM. (Wheel torque is 200NM)

Weight 118 kgs to 108 kgs!!

All this means 0-40 in 3.29 seconds, and 0-60 in 6.5 seconds (in the new WARP mode). Faster than Aprilia SR150 & TVS NTorq both. Likely the quickest Scooter in India, electric or petrol.

Charging quicker from 1 km range/minute to 1.5 km range/ minute. 2nd gen charger with 450X.

Lower steering inertia, better tyres & flickability,

Android Open source OS in the console, smoothening the experience and inviting developers for better apps & control,

Bluetooth hardware for calls, music control, etc. Also for smart helmet, tyre pressure sensor and more such accessories in future.

4G LTE added. E sim support.

Colours White, grey, green. Rim tapes & other subtle changes separate it from 450.

Battery Warranty is Infinite. Consistency promise on range, experience and performance.

Two variants:
A. 450X Plus (the older 450 is now upgraded with color specs, 4G, etc. to 450X plus)
B. 450X Pro (the higher performance scooter we're discussing here). Both variants have top speed of 80 kmph, but acceleration differs.

These 2 are not variants. These are performance packs. You can subscribe to better performance without changing vehicle!

Ex showroom is Rs. 99,000 (Delhi 85,000) and Plus is 1699/ month and Pro is 1999/ month.

Upfront payment means Rs. 1,49,000 for Plus setting, and Rs. 1,59,000 for Pro setting. (135k & 145k Delhi) (for finance as well)

10 cities presence expansion planned. 24 by 2022.

MOU signed with Tamil Nadu Govt. 1 Lakh capacity to be added this year. 40 Suppliers base, mostly from India. 1840 dealership enquiries.

75% vehicle parts = Made in India.

Aiming for 30k sales this year. 200+ charging points.

The Specs look great but they are saying that monthly subscription plans are mandatory. They have two plans Pro-2000/mo and Plus-1700/mo, now I don't understand this, why do I have to shell out another 2k monthly after buying the scooter for 1L?

Well, 99k +subscription is basically just a way to propogate a lower Ex showroom price, because while this scooter might be fastest accelerating, its also the most expensive right now...
or this subscription might be a way to attack the Activa, its price + approx. petrol charge. Its honestly like a finance scheme, sort of.

But, you can also choose upfront pricing as well, which is Rs. 1,49,000 for the Plus setting, and Rs. 1,59,000 for the Pro setting. (Rs. 135k & 145k respectively in Delhi).
I think there's no subscription after that.

Since even the earlier 450 costed around 1.29 Ex, this pricing was sort of expected.

The cost of 450x without subscription is coming to nearly 1.6L, I am cancelling my booking, and Ather 450 is also getting stopped, looks like they have become greedy suddenly.

I would agree. Its getting too expensive now, for what is essentially just a "great scooter".
We're looking at double the price of Activa 4G, which is somewhat tough to justify, even with the benefits...
Even if one argues that the running costs are lower, its now proper debatable if the 10 paise/ km vs 1 rupee/km is that a beneficial difference anymore.

One point they made is, Ather 450 is not discontinued and will be sold as 'Ather 450X +'. They were increasing the price for Ather 450. Now, it depends on the pricing hike itself, a big hike would mean older days are gone.

Also, they're claiming a price of Rs. 75,000 for the battery, but I remember reading something around Rs. 35,000~ on their website FAQ 1-2 years back. So, was it Ather 340's battery, a junior one?
I'll just check things from my end to clarify stuff... Do let me know if you remember the older FAQ (its now updated to reflect 450X).

Can Ather reps, if they're here, comment on the battery pricing?

This is really stupid move by Ather, they are on the path to killing the hen for the egg. One would have thought that as production stabilized the cost of ownership would come down, not go up. They had to make a sensible design which sells and also keeps them in the picture for long term but they chose a different path.

They claim- "If we are not willing to prove that people will pay fair price for an experience like the 450 then it’s hard for the market to really believe that electric is here and inevitable"

Well, for India electric is not inevitable now, or few years down the road, or even few decades down the road IMO. What are they thinking? They are saying the want to offer the best electric scooter in world to us, bozos, thats a sure way to end one's business when they are not having deep pockets, ask any motorcycle maker if they can survive by just selling their 1000+ cc bikes here.
