  • Pulsar BS6 to be Fuel injected

Bajaj dealers have begun accepting bookings for the BS6-compliant Bajaj Pulsar 220F. The motorcycle is priced at Rs 1,16,263, making it around Rs 8,000 more expensive than the older model that was priced at Rs 1,08,326 (ex-showroom). Its on-road cost, meanwhile, is closer to Rs 1.40 lakh.
According to sources, the BS6 Bajaj Pulsar 220F looks identical to the BS4-compliant model. The only changes on the new bike are to the fuelling method and to the exhaust system. For 2020, it uses a fuel-injection system instead of a carburettor, along with an exhaust system that’s more efficient. Bajaj hasn’t yet revealed the specifications of the BS6-compliant 220F, but considering how almost every other bike that has made the transition has witnessed a slight drop or gain in power and torque figures, we expect the same here.
For reference, the BS4-compliant 220F makes 20.9hp at 8,500rpm and 18.5Nm of torque at 7,000rpm. Despite its age, the Pulsar 220F still remains one of the most popular entry-level motorcycles in the market, and the BS6 update also hints that Bajaj has no plans to withdraw the bike from our market anytime soon

The earliest Pulsar 220 was Fuel injected (DTS Fi), and they later removed Fi to sell the Pulsar everywhere, not just Probiking showrooms, and to cut the exshowroom price by a good Rs. 15,000 or so. It sold awesome after that, setting new records.
Now, BS6 regulations leave not much of a choice...

And I think P220 should exist in this world of expensive, peaky powered, less torque vehicles. Except that, even torquey vehicles exist now and it will face immense competition now from Suzuki and Yamaha's 150cc and 250cc options.
Still getting a P220 for the price of a focused 125cc-150cc seems a good deal.

One funny thing is, Karizma vs Pulsar was the debate of the 10's decade.. And Karizma despite being legendary, doesn't exist now.

Anyhow, Let's hope they're still able to maintain 20 bhp complete somehow with good torque overall.
