Italian bike maker Soriano Motori has revealed its first electric bike - Soriani EV Giaguaro. The bike is expected to make an appearance at EICMA 2020 in Milan, Italy. But that totally depends upon how the Coronavirus pandemic situation evolves in the future.

The will be powered by Soriano's duo-flex electric motor with a three-speed gearbox, it places both motors together in a boxer arrangement. The two sides of the motor can function together and independently as well, depending on the situation. For basic city rides, the bike uses a single motor and saves battery.
And performance, both motors will work together for a top speed of 180kmph.
The Company claims a range of 150km on a single charge.

The bike also features six-axis inertial measurement unit (IMU), traction control and lean-sensitive ABS.
The Giaguaro will be offered in three different variants - V1R, V1S and the V1 Gara which is the top model.
The V1R costs 25,000 Euros which is roughly Rs 21.45 lakh.
The V2S is for 30,500 Euros and that is about Rs 26.17 lakh.
The V1 Gara is priced at 32,500 Euros which is close to Rs 27.89 lakh.

They are all available for pre-orders and the deliveries are expected to begin in the first quarter of 2021. Also, Giaguaro means Jaguar in Italian.

Ironically guys, this bike features something that I'd imagined a lot earlier, the twin boxer motors, out of which only one can be used for city commuting... and two for fun riding.
Since powering one motor in a crank connected setup will result in unnecessary rotation of the other motor, (whose energy can be used regeneratively, but its anyways a rotational waste of energy), I had also imagined a bicycle/slipper clutch like setup of movement, where either of the motors can transfer the power to wheel, but can't rotate each other. (Like a bicycle's pedal can power the wheel, but wheel can't rotate pedal).
Anyhow, the design, while it may stand out pretty well, the performance for this kind of price leaves a lot to be desired even by hefty European market pricing standards. Again, its not a run of the mill bike that everyone must have one. And this stylish bike doing 180 kmph is enough, I believe.
But there's one good thing that's coming out from this electric revolution, and its unconnected to this news... Its the spreading out of industry, now everyone's making an EV, just because its easy to get one right.
A Petrol ICE engine was kinda tough to get correct without sufficient R&D, but a reliable electric is comparatively far easier to make.
This means, it should provide scope to more companies, although private mechanics might not enjoy so much now, with a vehicle going this reliable..
Now, we even have gearboxes, the future electric motorcycles might actually be closer to our present bikes.. Smooth engine lovers who like Japanese brands might feel at home, even though many (like me) will miss the vibrations, the grunty, throaty exhaust, etc.
Anyhow, what do you guys think?
Do any of you believe we should've gone more towards Hydrogen fuelling instead of electric? (Although, some Hydro's have ended up in fire, raising safety questions)
