Actually I think it'll most probably be the battle between Honda and Kawasaki's new 2004 ZX-12R. Suzuki has kinda ignored the Busa and it has remained in pretty much the same shape as when it was first introduced. And there's no news of a revision happening on the Busa yet...

The ZX12R has already been revised for 2004. It now has a 165Bhp motor, new radial brakes, a revised fuel injection system, monocoque aluminium frame and the mirrors have been updated too. Also, all 2004 12Rs come with a factory fitted immobilizer.

The big 12 maxes out at 185mph.

Suzuki's not revising the Hayabusa , Ken , for the simple reason that rivals need time to catch and rom to breathe !!!!

I've heard rumours from a long time about a VFR 1200 (i posted this elsewhere..)
If its true, bye bye busa indeed..

And ricci, ZX12R is on par with the busa (only a fraction(0.4 s) slower to the ton and same top speed..)
IN fact in the nurestricted form w/o turbocharging, and basic mods such as PCIIIR and can, the ZX12R beats the busa.. No wonder the ZX12R was kawasaki's Project 320 bike.

I know poor busa lovers are gonna jump all over me, what with all the hype surrounding the busa and people thinking the stock busa can touch 200mph w/o NOS or turbo...

So ricci, technically busa's arse is on fire!

Powerslave , I know the 12R makes a wee bitm more power than BUsa and is lighter , but for the purpose it is built , the Busa might not looks as pretty but it does the job better in my book . Nothng against the 12R , that's a mighty nice bike that I'd love to own as well .

Indeed I hope Honda does bring back top speed wars , thos damn politicians do nohting abt 350kmh cars but jump like 5 yr old kids when bikes that top 300kmh are mentioned . What is about car that makes them such .....

@Ricci: Well you know like i said (elsewhere), if ya have to turbocharge and just go for the whole works bike, the busa is the obvious choice with the drag co-eff advantage. But the 12R doesn't fall short on anything else, infact it betters the busa in a lot other fields.. Then again, Won't we kill to have either.
P.S. If you wondering why ppl don't turbocharge 12Rs as much as busas, the 12Rs design is tougher to fix and accomodate a turbocharger..

The top speed limits hardly matter to the enthusiasts who de-rectrict them anyways, what we don't get is, bikes with better power in the stock trim, which are a lot more stable than turbocharged bikes. A 220bhp busa stock would always be better than a 220bhp turbo busa..
You must be knowing about the Ghost-rider's 499bhp busa, but did you know about Rob Muzzy's 500bhp 12R ??

^ Hey I already have that! It is one helluva comparo, and as you can see it is neck to neck competition, infact there's no clear winner, it all depends on the rider skill. Talking od rider skillz OMFG those two guys are AWESOME!! They are friggin awesome! Did you see that guy sliding outta the turn on track on the busa? And did ya see the 250kmph wheelie on the 12R! Wow! Those riders rock! Their wheelies were rock steady!
A must see! Btw, you on land?

Seen this vid long time ago, but neither of the bikes prove to be better. Being back on topic, ppl the 190bhp isnt what seems impressive considering there are 300-600bhp turbo busas out there, but they are very sluggish off the boost i.e. rider has to deal with a lot of turbo lag if accelerating from low rpm, but on the other hand this new Honda VF/Blackbird would totally smoke those inline 4 bikes in top gear roll ons, loads of grunt from low rpms.
