It has been almost 2 years since the Bajaj Dominar was launched. With the increase in competition, the battle in its segment grew fiercer. A major update was needed to keep up with the competition. With minor updates like the introduction of new paint schemes, Bajaj tried to boost the sales numbers but the sales figure tell us that it didn’t quite work out. It was about time that the Dominar received a major update. And the spy shots which have surfaced, suggest that the new Dominar with significant updates might be just around the corner.
Surprisingly, the test vehicle which was spotted somewhere in Leh-Ladakh, wasn’t camouflaged. The visible changes include major mechanical changes like the motorcycle might come with upside-down forks and a new exhaust as well. The new exhaust seems to be double barrel and might take the aural pleasure even further! The radiator seems bigger as well which might translate to the fact that the engine might have gone through some changes too. There are rumors that the instrument cluster is updated as well and might include more information than the current one.

It would be great if some features from the Duke 390 could trickle down to the new Dominar like DOHC and ride-by-wire. ABS is most likely to become standard. If all these features actually make it to the production, the Dominar will become a very attractive proposition for the riders who are looking to buy a motorcycle under 2 lakhs. Though because of these major changes, we can assume that the price will go up too. It would still be a good value for money as compared to the other offerings in the market.
