13th July 2012... Early Morning.. 5:30 AM... Venture starts..

I woke up early Morning at 5:30 AM.. Hit the Gym.. came back at 6:45 AM.. took some rest and got ready to office by 8 AM..

Left my house.. started my Black pearl.. left to office like a Boss.. well.. Half way to my Office.. My Bike ran out of food.. :-/ and there is no fuel station near by.. I had an idea to call Manoj as he said he will come to office early too.. I called him.. that idiot didn't pick up the phone.. tried again and with the same results.. then I called Amresh.. thinking he will be in office early... called him.. he attends the call and when I asked him where is he.. he dropped the Fat Boy on me saying I just now got up.. I was like WTF????

Then I called another colleague.. our Network Administrator Rajeev.. he usually comes to office early.. but today.. my luck failed on me.. he was not at office...

I didn't want to leave my bike stranded.. as Noida is known for vehicle thieves!

I saw a shop vendor.. a small tea stall who I see everyday on my way to office.. I pushed the bike towards his small stall and asked him if I can leave my bike here and go get fuel.. he said yes.. and I parked the bike.. then again... with a poker face.. I asked him if he had a waste bottle for me to get fuel in.. He was kind enough to pour out the water he had in his water bottle and gave it to me..

I crossed the road.. caught an auto-rickshaw and went to the Fuel station and got one liter fuel and went back in the same Auto..

he charged me heavily but I had no other choice but to get it..

Already frustrated.. My So called idiot Friend manoj called me up.. when I was returning from the Fuel Station.. I tot he was riding his bike hence he didn't pick up the phone.. but the reason he gave just made me more frustrated He said he was sleeping so he didn't attend the call..

I was like.. WTF happened to our plan of coming early to office... he was like.. Yeah.. It just got cancelled and you guys should have hear him laughing.. I felt like killing him.. lol..

Well.. it was 9 AM and I finally reached office.. so frustrated.. didn't feel like doing any work... Just sat down and was wondering.. whether these guys are even gonna come for the weekend ride..

It was 9:30 and both the idiots came with a stupid smile on their faces.. I got relieved after seeing them with their travel bags and kits.. that was a huge sign of relief..

I started abusing them to the core.. We had so much of work as usual and we didn't even take breaks as we wanted to leave as soon as possible.. we tot we can finish the work by 11:30 and leave for the day..

it was 11:30.. we all finished our work and we were about to go out of cubicle.. and thats when our manager came.. Once he starts speaking.. he will never leave you.. he kept talking for almost an hour and our Luck.. it was 12:30 PM.. we went out and got our bikes packed..

We had another friend join us till Ambala.. as he was going to him hometown in Ambala..

We started the engines...



Well, Guess what happened.. RE Classic 350 had some starting issues.. the issue was already there.. but that idiot never got it checked.. so on our way we went to the RE SVC to get it checked.. those guys never bothered to look into the issue and made us wait for a long time..

Meanwhile Manoj went to get his battery changed..

now the time was 2:30 PM and they finally take the bike inside to check on it.. Me and Manoj were sure its an issue with the wiring.. and those guys were saying its an issue with the Engine Kill Switch..

They changed it and still the bike had starting problem.. then me and Manoj suggested them to check the wiring to the Battery.. Once they opened the battery compartment.. the battery was in bad condition and the wires were filled with acid deposits..

we requested them to fill up water in the battery and put it for charge.. we got the battery charged.. got the terminals cleaned, wires cleaned and by then, the time was 4 PM already and we had a plan to make it till Shimla by 11PM..

So we started our bikes.. hit the roads.. by 4:30 we hit NH01.. Karnal Chandigarh Road... we were feeling hungry.. so we decided to stop for food..

One of the best places to have your food.. Sukh Dev Dabha... yummy food.. worth every penny...

we had food and we moved at around 5:30 PM.. it was already too late.. and our colleague who joined us wanted to ride RE on highways.. so Amresh let him ride his bike..

He started riding the bike rashly... we were scared like hell for Amresh.. he didn't know when to apply brakes.. he just goes too close and gives a cut just behind the vehicle ahead.. he was going at 100's.. of course the roads are pretty good that we can easily hit above 100's but what scared us was the cunning smile on our colleague's face.. that devilish smile..

we reached Ambala in just 2 hours cos of the rash driving.. me and Manoj had to go ahead of RE350 every time to slow him down..

After we dropped him in Ambala.. He kept cribbing that RE couldn't cross 100 kmph.. crazy guy..

So now the time is 7:30 PM and now we were in a dilemma whether we will make it to Shimla or not.. I strongly said.. we are going to Shimla.. no matter how late it gets..

so we moved on.. we neared Chandigarh at around 8:30 PM and we took right towards Shimla under bridge... from there the road was free and we were quite satisfied with it.. when we were about to climb up the mountains, the road was pretty awesome but we were going quite slow...

After some 20 kms from climbing the mountain, we decided to stop for dinner.. and the time was 9:15 PM.. Amresh called up his bro, Manoj with his wife and me with my mom.. informed mom that I was going on bike initially told her we are going in car

She started abusing me out of care and she was crying.. i had to pacify her...

We had Tea and Cool Drinks there and we moved as soon as possible..

after some distance.. on the left.. there is a Hyundai Showroom.. we stopped by there as Amresh wanted a Pee Break so me and Manoj too peeed

Both the SMD LEDs were working when we left from Noida.. But later in the night.. don't know when it stopped working..

Well, we moved on a bit more and the time was around 10:30 PM and Amresh was hungry so we stopped by a small dhaba..

well, now the time was somewhere around 11:45 and we started from the place.. and Shimla was still 60 kms away.. so we had to travel at a better pace...

we suddenly remembered the Pokhara Trip goosebumps and we thought we shud not take risk during night so we started looking out for hotels late at 12 AM.. it was pitch dark.. and we stopped by a hotel.. it seemed to be closed.. and just before we moved.. we saw some body lying and that freaked us out.. we revived our heartbeats only after coming to know that its guy who is just sleeping.. ufff.. Scared the shit out of us..

well, there it goes.. again with goosebumps.. we decided not to look for hotels here as no hotels were open and going slow just slowed down our pace..

so we kept riding at 60kmph speed and at one point of time.. Amresh suddenly stopped and when Manoj went and asked why he stopped.. Amresh said You called me and said Rukh Rukh Rukh.. Manoj was like no ways.. I never called.. he assumed it was something running in his mind..

so we continued..

I had a feeling that my bike slid on every curves which again made me freak out.. every curve i take a turn, my rear tire seemed to skid like anything.. not sure why or what the problem was.

we still continued without stopping and again, suddenly Amresh stopped the bike and when asked.. he said the same thing.. Manoj called me and said Rukh 3 times..

Manoj again got scared saying I never called you mate.. we didn't know what was happening.. but we continued further... Amresh's bike came to reserve and he wanted to fill up fuel for his bike so we were on a look out for fuel station..

we found one on the right hand side.. and Amresh parked his bike behind a truck just opposite to the fuel station.. and we stopped too..

Amresh said I will fill up fuel from here and then we will move on.. Shimla is just another 15 kms away and the time was somewhere around 1 AM.. just when Amresh was about to cross the road.. (Idiot didn't even care to see the road before crossing) Manoj and I noticed a truck coming very fast on the opposite side.. this Time.. Manoj shouted "Amresh. Rukh Rukh Rukh" Amresh stopped and the truck just passed by leaving a gap of about one foot.. we were scared to the core..

Amresh was like did you call me.. Manoj said yes you A**Hole.. Why the F*** don't you look on both the sides before crossing..

Then Amresh said. Bhai.. this is the same tone I heard 2 times before.. This shit freaked us out more.. Seriously.. it seemed as if someone was trying to warm Amresh well before this incident took place..

We took a 5 mins break in the fuel station with fast heart beats...

Amresh Filled up his fuel tank.. Now we were ready to leave and I started my bike and the Speedo console Goes Blank.. I was like WTF?? I just changed my battery after the Nepal trip (of course I was using Projector) and the battery died.. had to push start the bike and keep my headlights turned off.. somehow we managed to make it to Shimla at 1:30 Am and got the room..

One Crazy ride from Noida... One heck of a night travel once again scaring the guts out of us.. we had 2 rooms in a single room.. Manoj usually prefers to sleep alone.. but when we discussed all that happened during the ride.. Manoj decided not to sleep alone in that room and came the hall and slept along with us after joining the 2 beds...

Some spirit was guiding us this time for sure..

Manoj always says.. Mountains are very peaceful at night.. but their characteristic is completely different at night from day.. which seemed true to me at that point of time... we couldn't sleep till it was around 2:30 AM...

14th July 2012... Plan Still Pending..

It was early morning.. no.. we didn't wake up

I got up first as usual.. went out to check on the bikes.. It was drizzling.. it had rained heavily over the night.. Went and woke up Manoj and asked him to come out.. he actually had the HID fixed.. the dual bulb.. yellow and white.. the yellow light was not working.. so we wanted to check what happened to the Bulb..

Me and manoj usually try DIY all the time when it comes to the 3 of our bikes..

so we pulled out the headlight of RTR180 and removed the HID bulb and found that the wire to the yellow bulb had to be soldered and that is not possible.. so we thought of a work around and managed to fix the yellow bulb wire and got the bulb to work..

So then we saw RE Classic 350 and we got a thought in our mind.. we wanted to scare Amresh saying that his bike got a huge scratch on the tank.. so we went inside the room and Amresh was sleeping.. we both shouted saying "Amresh there is a scratch on your bike tank.. a huge one.." he got up.. As expected.. he ran outside to what happened and came back with a poker face.. lol.. he went back to bed and started sleeping.. me and Manoj as usual got ready and we started planning on what to do?? whether we should go around Shimla only for sightseeing or should we take our bikes and go further ahead..

We decided to go for sightseeing and later on go as far as we can towards Reckong Peo..



so we woke up Amresh and asked him to get ready.. that idiot wanted tea so we ordered it and he was like.. manoj pls go get me a tooth brush.. i don't have one..

So Manoj went and got one.. then we made that idiot get ready and we went out...

When we got out.. we just noticed there was a college just opposite to our room

Me and Amresh as usual started Drooling and we were walking sooo slowly across the college..

well.. we didn't wanna waste time.. so we just went ahead.. we didn't know where we were so we turned on the GPS on our phones and tried to look for the Market Road.. we were on legs by the way..

we went some few meters and we started clicking pics..



After a small photo session.. we were looking out for the way.. and we didn't wanna ask anyone for the way..

so Manoj was Like.. F*** this.. I wanna ride.. not sightsee..

So we decided to go back to the room and check out.. by the way.. the time is already 9:30 AM..

On our way back.. we were planning on which route to take and which point to reach.. keeping in our minds not to ride at night..

so we asked people around regarding the way to Reckong Peo.. We also checked on Mobile GPS and found it is somewhere around 200+ kms away from where we were staying.. well.. we wanted to go as far as we can and stay and travel back to Delhi the next day..

After we reached the Room, we ordered for breakfast.. We had our breakfast and Amresh went to check out the room.. meanwhile me and Manoj packed up the bags and seated them on the 3 bikes... After Amresh came out.. we noticed that on the RE C350, the Battery Compartment lock was broken and possibilities of the battery to fall off was high.. we managed to make it hold.. so we started our engines and heard them roar...

we crossed by the small college and I showed off a bit followed by Amresh with his buut buut (name given by me and manoj to his C350)

we had to climb down declined roads which almost had an inclination of 45 - 50 degrees..

and finally we came to the main road of shimla.. now we wanted to know the path towards Reckong Peo.. as guided by the cops.. we went ahead.. Guys.. we were stuck by the heavy traffic.. Manoj with his RTR went well ahead past the traffic without any difficulties.. I was able to manage but Amresh was stuck up far..

Manoj was waiting for me and Amresh and on seeing me.. he started moving probably thinking that Amresh is right behind me.. now I had to pick up speed to stop him.. and we waiting for Amresh to come up.. and when Amresh Honked.. one of his horns was not working.. so we had to fix it up..

Manoj was looking out for a workshop to get the clip for the horns and bolts to fix the horn as it was falling off of it..

so after fixing RE C350's horn.. we continued with our venture.. the roads were horrible and we had to go bit slow.. they were laying roads and we had to ask for the route as there was no directions..

we stopped to take few pics for no reason



so after Manoj Pissed, we decided to fasten up the pace as we had to travel 180kms on the mountains.. so we decided to move and the time was around 1 PM.. We found an Abandoned truck which probably met with an accident long back.. Manoj wanted water so went back a couple of 100 meters to get water.. by walk..

during that time. me and Amresh went crazy and had a small photo session..



Amresh wanted to have something to eat.. so we stopped by a pretty decent dhaba.. we had our lunch there..

so we were all set after finishing off our lunch..

forgot to mention.. Amresh was suffering from stomach ache and Manoj got the Tablets for Amresh when we were busy clicking pics near the wrecked truck...

Manoj called me up.. he asked me to bring a bike to pick him up.. as he was more than 100m away.. so I went on my bike to pick him up.. he started abusing me.. I was like why are you abusing me..

He said.. just turn back and see what you have on your rear seat.. I was like.. Shit I had my luggage on the rear seat.. whereas Amresh's bike didn't have anything.. so I went back and came in Amresh's bike and picked up Manoj so for Amresh to have the tablets.. we stopped by the dhaba to have lunch

Now back to the venture

as we were already late.. we had to go another 150 odd kms to reach Reckong Peo..

We just couldn't go fast but admire the beauty of the Nature.. we just couldn't resist taking pics..




On a Serious note.. best part of the Himalayas is the view and scenery..

by the time we stopped clicking pics..

we almost spent 30 minutes here.. maybe even more..

Coming back here after a long time.. sorry was on a vacation to Chennai for a week and after coming back.. had loads of work in office..

Now.. where was I?? scrolling up to read the last post

Ah.. 4:30 PM..

Well.. We just left after the wonderful photo shoot and suddenly we started feeling cold.. the breeze.. it was wonderful and at the same time a warning.. we just ahead for some 20 minutes and it started raining.. raining heavily.. we had to halt.. lucky us.. we found ourselves a small tea store where we kept ourselves dry.. [MENTION=8563]manoj[/MENTION]soni and Amresh as usual ordered tea and I as usual watched them drink it.. we were waiting for the rain to stop.. we kinda felt bad as this is gonna stop us from going all the way to Reckong Peo..



So meanwhile.. we just had a small photo shoot again..

We waiting for an hour and now the time was 5:45 PM and thankfully the clouds were clearing up and they were moving towards the opposite direction so we didn't have to worry about the rain hitting us again..

so after this small photo session.. we moved on..

as we moved on.. my bike started feeling sluggish.. that tak tak sound which comes when you are running the bike in low speed in high gears.. I started worrying and the bike felt tight as if the engine oil level is low.. I was using Motul 300v 15W50 for my ZMR.. somehow i managed to ride it and when I said this to Manoj.. he said the same thing occurred on his bike.. we reached Narkanda and the time now was 6:45 PM and we decided we will stay somewhere here in a tent.. so when Amresh went to check on the Narkanda Resort.. me and Manoj tried to check the oil level.. as suspected.. the oil level was low and this worried both of us he was using the same oil as I was..
