The spyshots clearly indicate the retro theme of the motorcycle. It is an instant reminder of the good’ol times of Jawa and Yezdi motorcycles that were sold in India. Another classy bit is that it retains the twin exhausts from the Jawa motorcycles of old. The bike is going to be powered by a 293 cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder motor with dual overhead camshafts or DOHC technology. Power will be transferred to the wheels through a 6-speed (or maybe 5-speed) gearbox. It is expected to make around 27 Bhp of power and 28 Nm of torque with the focus on a nice & flat powerband like the original Jawa.
Also revealed from the Jawa 300 spyshots is the braking system which shows disc at the front and drum on the rear. With ABS being a mandate, we expect a single-channel ABS system to be a part of the package as well. Telescopic front suspension and gas charged rear shocks are also visible in the photos. The wheels are spoked, staying true to the retro styling theme. Other bits like fork gaiters, headlamps, big boat style mudguards (both front and rear) also reflect the old school styling.
As we already know, Jawa 300 is going to be launched under the Classic Legends brands owned by Mahindra & Mahindra. We expect 3 motorcycles on the same engine platform with different styling (scramblers and bobbers?).
Stay tuned as we bring to you the information from the official unveiling on the 15th of November.
