  • TVS SR125, to replace Flame.

    TVS SR125, to replace Flame.

Most of you are aware that a Chennai Court has favoured TVS over the "2 Spark Plugs" Row in the bike "Flame" original, between Bajaj & TVS.

TVS has won the case, thereby allowing them to sell the 3 valve Original Flame engine from AVL (I think so), but without 2 spark plugs.

Hence, a new bike is coming soon with the name SR125, to replace Flame. While performance was roughly the same, the mileage of the original flame was higher by a noticeable margin.

This bike will omit the controversial twin-spark plug technology over which the Chennai-based company is locked in a two-year old legal battle with rival Bajaj Auto.

The SR125 may be launched together with the new updated 180cc Apache RTR as well.

What do you say on this, Guys?

But Flame (revised) always had a 3 valve unit....
what it did'nt have was the second spark plug...

n the company had claimed a milage of 112kmpl on da revised flame (i saw it on one of the banners of the bike in the showroom)

            but im still confused though....
has TVS been allowed to use the 2nd spark plug or not????
as chennai HC has found the two technologies to be different and allowed TVS to use it in their bikes...however, BI article says that TVS cant use the second spark plug....

someone please come wid a CLEAR n CONFIRMED news plz...

@ KK_RTR: A test by Bike India proved that the new Flame has less mileage ...

Older one could give 75-80 kmpl on freeways. About Newer Flame, I don't remember ...

The news is still unclear what the court has ruled out...

HC has directed that TVS can produce 'Flame' but not market it. Whats the logic? Dont ask me

^^Which means they will make the Flame and allow only the court lawyers to ride. It's not meant for general public!!

They can make the bike with twin spark plugs and sell it, but they are not allowed to market it as twin spark plug bike until the final verdict is out, like the way Bajaj does [DTSI].

                        The News is this .......

Though HC has given TVS the permission to deploy Twin Spark Plugs in thier CCVTI Flame......
Tvs is not much Keen on Deploying them in it....
Instead...they are going on thier way to produce a New Bread SR125....

Since Flame has lost its name....its hard to get it back.......

This bread will uphold the Same 3valve CCVTI engine from AVL ......And the bike will be of for Racing Enthusiasts....with 5 gears and Rear Sets.....and also will get .5 bhp higher than of the original Raw Power of Flame..... (All Speculations) But will hold many a few features of flame in it....

Not sure whether TVS will hold both Flame and SR125.........

Floating INFO said that Flame will get upgrades by end of this year....(Im keenly waiting for it) --- but the due factor is whether the brand Flame will ever exist in TVS ???????

Flame is one of an Amazing bikes ----which was unexplored......

1 - It can reach an Top end of about 109KM (No Speedo errors - confirmed this with an GPS)
2 - Excellent mileage which can produce neaby 60-65 KMPL(normal riding conditions)
3 - Add-on Features such as Tank Storage - Digital console with Clock - broad Fron tyres....
4 - The lack of One Single Spark Plug which costs only 350....has made this Excellent bike a Dumb.....

Bajaj officials.....are really a Maniac Sick Guys....They feared a Technology which would have made tvs a bigger competitor in its 125cc Category.... Its the war between CCVTI and DTSI.........Though TVS was beaten in the war ----- they still hold the Competition.......

TVS is hoping a New name will make wonders.......lets see.......

Why did TVS fight the case if they do not plan to use the technology....

Did TVS really win the case....?
