Looks a bit plasticky than CBR but its pretty close to give age old CBR a fight. As I have seen the quick specs the Oil Cooling is the difference than other 250cc engines like Duke/CBR.

Differences are the following: 250 vs 155
    1. Forks: 43mm vs 41mm
    2. Engine casing: Bronze magnesium vs Black
    3. Front top of fairing (above and surrounding headlight): Body color vs Black
    4. Body Paint: Matt finish vs Glossy
    5. Exhaust end can ports: Squarish vs triangular
    6. Meter console: Blue backlight with red highlight for redline vs white backlight with monochrome
    7. Alloy wheel: Diamond cut design with 10 spoke vs 5 spoke design (same as before)
    8. Tail section: Body colour vs Black
    9. Oil cooler + non finned cylinder & head vs Air cooled finned engine
    10. Dual channel ABS vs Single channel ABS.
    11. Six speed gearbox vs 5 speed

I personally think 250 would be excellent for those looking for upgrade over 150cc bikes with affordable maintenance costs. The seats look comfortable and power is quite decent - 26 bhp. Also, being a 250 the gear ratios should be shorter than say, Dominar making it easier to ride in traffic coupled with relative less weight of 160kgs. So in essence, it should be a good power- commuter with enough cruising ability on highways having 6 speed gearbox. For those looking for highway rides, Dominar is still the best bet. Also, being a SOHC it should have better low end grunt useful for hill sections and cities

Edit: it seems both bikes have same fork dia of 41 mm, just the internals are diiferent. Also, the rake angle of 250 is sharper to counteract the effect of longer wheelbase and higher weight.

As someone who is already riding a R15 V2. I feel it to be a bit under powered.

If I compare it with my current ride, the 8 horse power gain will be nullified by the 30 kgs of extra weight, which does not make it a proper upgrade, at least for me.
Around 30 Horse power would be good, if someone like me wants to upgrade. Of course, the relaxed seating posture and dual channel ABS would be welcome upgrades for everyone.
I would like to thank my legs for supporting me, my arms for being always by my side and my fingers; I could always count on them.

Gixxer 250 is more of a sports tourer/ sports commuter (is that even a term?) while R15 is more of a track oriented motorcycle. I think the graduation for you should be RR310 or RC /Duke. Just ask yourself, would you buy CBR250, if it is around 25k cheaper, (forget about liquid cooling, dohc etc). Also, being heavier this bike wouldn't be as nimble as the R15 too around corners etc.

Agreed with everything you say bro.
And yes, a sports tourer will not be as high revving as a super sport, agreed on this too. But still I can't stop thinking how good a package it would be able to provide comfortable seating along with major power upgrade. If these were power figures for a cruiser, I would be quite happy. Not so much for a sports tourer.

I agree on the last part as well, I haven't found many bikes that come even close to the telepathic handling of the V2.
