But what is CT 125? We all know that the Honda Cub is one of the most popular motorcycles in history. The Super Cub took that further. And the CT 125 takes matters off the tarmac. Super Cub + Scrambler treatment = CT 125. And just to let you know, this concept is not an entirely new idea.
Honda has a history of producing these 'Trail Cub" models and they started making these a few years after the Cub was introduced. Just last year, the Super Cub made its way to the US with revised styling and more displacement but the same fun factor that made it one of the most popular two-wheelers ever made. This time around, Honda is not taking a few years. Just a year later, they are showing off the trail version of the Super Cub. What makes this unveiling better is that it was unveiled alongside the new Africa Twin or the CRF1100L.
As we mentioned before, the CT 125 is based on the Super Cub but with a few features that make it more off-road friendly. The overall profile remains similar but the err... engine compartment is opened up which massively distinguishes the CT 125 from the Super Cub. Another change is the high-mounted exhaust which lends it dem scrambler vibes. A steel fender, the luggage rack at the back and the multipurpose tyres complete the Super Cub's transformation into CT 125.
Honda's official comments go like this: "While featuring a casual characteristic suitable for everyday use, the CT125 is positioned also as a trekking bike which is equipped with functions that enable the rider to enjoy it in the outdoors."
Makes a lot of sense doesn't it? Honda India?
