      I belive TVS had a Electric Scooter on Display in the AutoExpo 2008.........
      I think im right........

            That's a step-thru mate. It was primarily meant for the SE-Asian (read-Indonesia) markets. I don't think there'll be takers for a step-thru in India. The days of step-thru's are long gone in India. Indians now crave affluence so i doubt this will make it here. The engine might though.....

                  thought i could add something. the scoots gonna be pitted against activa. the engine would be an all new 100~110cc engine. the projects been in the pipe line for sometime but this year they have a go ahead cos of the increase in numbers for TVS.


                  btw, tvs has an LC engine which apparently works brilliantly. so yeah thats something to ponder over and wish for.

                    The new scooter will be a bored out version of scooty pep/streak. Current boreXstroke of scooty is 51.0 mm x 43 mm.. For activa it is 50.0 x 52.0 for old and 50 X 55 for new.. Still 87cc scooty's bore is more than 108cc activa.. Scooty's engine is an over square engine like RTR. TVS can safely increase the stroke length or can increase the bore and stroke to make it a 100CC or 110CC. TVS has mentioned somewhere that the new scooter will employ modified version of scooty engine.

                      The new engine will be a 110cc block from well err..a new machine launched elsewhere. The scooter will be launched during diwali.

                      btw, tvs has an LC engine which apparently works brilliantly. so yeah thats something to ponder over and wish for.
                      But sadly that LC engine is meant for a smaller capacity engine.Hope they are planning something big.

                        or is it the TVS rockz heading for south East Asia, doing its test runs here in India...

                            It has got Flame's exhaust, RTRs rear poly shocks and also has got a naked chain case.

                            This stepthru doesnt have any market in India, may be they are testing it for ASEAN region.

                              Personally i don't like it's looks, & of course overall...This won't be a competitor to any other models in its class currently in india...Ultimately it will be flop model..

                                Some Update News

                                After the successful launch of TVS Apache RTR 180cc and Flame SR125 bike in India, now the TVS motors has claimed that all of us can still expect have 2 more launches from us by the end of 2009. The company will launch a scooter - based on Scooty platform and an executive segment bike.
