    chennai race track receives clean chit

    The race track at sriperumbudur received clean chit to conduct FIM petronas asian raod racing championship round four sept.6.B gundari,vice president ,asian motorcycle union,inspected the venue on thursday and gave the green signal..It has some excellent racing facility and capable of hosting international bike races

    Mr gudari visited the track and suggested a few improvements with regard to safety way of a gravel trap at three corners..Also pre sent on the occasion was Ron hogg of two wheels motor racing ,malaysia,the promotersof the series and he finalized arrangements for the chennai leg of the championship..

    The bikes thaT will be seen in action in SEPt event include 600cc superspot and underbone 115 that will be riden by some of the best riders on asia and india..

      It would be interesting to know which corners needed improvements. IMO C1/C2 have practically ZERO runoff and these are corners that are taken at very high speeds. Anything going wrong braking into C1/C2 will almost definitely result in a big crash...especially on Superbikes. Like-wise C12 (last corner) has very little runoff at the exit and there are some metal rods sticking out of the ground all around the track as well.

        That is one nightmarish scenario. Especially since speeds on that corner are in triple digits.

        Plus, they need to cut the damn grass and get rid of all the wildlife in the track. One would think it's a reserve for pigs and snakes..
