hmmm... that's sure some fresh news.

250 cc and 100 cc with big projections on 100 cc sales (wasn't it supposed to be 110 cc??)

Honda has 14% market share. 20% growth means close to 17% share.

Well, its good that Honda is revamping its entire range, to BS III, as only Stunner Fi passes it right now.

The bigger task would be maintaining initial costs and performance closer to the current levels. I wonder how will they go about it - Fi increases Price, and Cat Cons eat the performance...

But, it was expected, as I have read in Xbhp somewhere, that these BSIII standards are going to be compulsory sometime in near future.

will BS III norms affect that much for 2 wheeler segment, i was thinking of only 4 wheeler effect like maruti upgrading to kb-series , so will we have any chance of seeing honda's and hh's old school engines phased out because some of them are way beyond our ages

Hero Honda to upgrade its models to meet BS-III norms

The country's largest two-wheeler maker Hero Honda today said it will upgrade all its existing models to meet Bharat Stage-III emission compliant norms by the end of this financial year.
"All bikes will be upgraded to BS-III by March 2010... some models already meet the norms, while the rest will be changed with some minor modifications," Hero Honda Motors Managing Director Pawan Munjal told reporters on the sidelines SIAM annual convention here.
The company is also looking to launch a model which will be priced lower than its least expensive bike (100cc segment).
"We have been seriously thinking for a low-priced product but very high in performance. Our engineers along with those from Honda are working on this," Munjal said.
In the ensuing festive season, he said the company is confident of selling over six lakh units that it had sold in the same period last year.

And maybe the Pulsar 220 dtsfi, apache rtr fi and Glamour Fi, but I am not confirmed about these...

Seems there are more than one model that meet BS-III norms. I guess there are models apart from Glamour FI that meet the norms in HH product lineup.

India has a huge demand for the 250cc & above bikes presently and it is going to grow further in the coming times then what is holding back these companies from producing them ???

We already have the 220 then is there any major difference between 220 & 250 or 300 cc bikes..?? every manufacturer keeps bring out 100 / 125 / 135 cc bikes every now & then and are targeting only the mass crowd but aren't they seeing the huge vacuum for powerful bikes ??
