    NEWS: TVS to produce Twin Spark Plug Flame

    /India PRwire/ - In the patent dispute between Bajaj Auto Limited v. TVS Motor Company Limited, the Supreme Court of India has allowed TVS to sell the twin spark plug TVS-Flame by its order dated 16th September 2009.

    The Company will take steps to obtain all necessary certifications required under law such as under the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989, before commencing sales of twin spark plug TVS-Flame.

        This is somewhat an Old news.....
        TVS has settled not to produce Twin spark Plug flames and has released its modified version of SR125........

        But TVS has got the patent rights for Twin spak plugs and that should only be used in Flame's Engine - since this engine is an approved patent of an Austrian Company....while Bajaj's patent is an approved one in our Country.....

        Bajaj has lost the case - and atleast TVS won it - but ended up saying they wont produce Twin spark Plug engines for thier Flame in the neat future....

        CCVTI and DTSI are entirely different Mechanisms - the only common is that both the mechanisms uses Twin Spark Plug.....

          The Flame has a beautiful engine and that twin spark is a blessing. Unlike the pulsars, this works more effectively.

              i installed automech exhaust on my r15.the torque improved.mechanics say as i run more kms the ecu will detect the change and reset to give furthur performance gain.is it true?

                  If this is really to happen - then its for sure that Flame will be a Big Hit....

                  Hope they do these modifications for the existing Owners of Flame
                  (Mono-spark Plug) engines....

                  If they are gonna release Twin spark plugged models i belive they will release it with the same FLAME SR125 Tag.......

                    TVS has launched the Flame named Flame DS 125 with twin spark technology and three valves. It is priced at 49,200/- Exshowroom. Now it is interesting to see how the market reacts.

                          I don't think the market reaction will show any noticeable change...honest...people get accustomed and have a general perception towards a product.And that extra spark plug may not set the sales chart on fire for sure...
                          It all begins with a thumb-start -- Oh, wait, I forgot the kill-switch

                            ^^ So true!! When the target market is not technology oriented or interested in those technogical jargons it would hardly make an impact or a difference in acceptance/sales!!
