  • KTM firms up plans for India

Source: KTM firms up plans for India

While the Pune based company, Bajaj increased their share holding in the Austrian firm in the meantime, no concrete plans were shared with the media. However, here is an exclusive preview of what both companies have in mind for the next year.

The development of the Bajaj-KTM small capacity bikes is in full swing and the
official launch will take place in the first quarter of the next calendar year. As for India, KTM will begin their foray into the domestic superbike segment with the launch of the 690 Duke early next year followed by other bikes.

KTM also wishes to ride in full throttle and have serious plans for bringing in their full range of riding gear as well as accessories. Apart from this, the company will also be getting their famous KTM Adventure Tours arm to India and will organize motorcycle tours for Indians as well as enthusiasts abroad. There are also firm plans for having at least a round of the world famous Red Bull X-fighters Championship right here in our country! KTM it seems wants to leave no stone unturned to mark their presence strongly and will also be participating in local racing as well as motocross championships. Spot on!

Great Stuff! Would love to see some katooms in action. Quite a few motorcrossers use KTMs in the foreign class already. It would be awesome to see some factory bikes in the races. That apart i hope they stick to their word and foray in the Indian market ASAP next year!

Bunny bhaiya, I would love to own the KTM Duke if its priced below 6L.

It's so damn practical, enough power, supports normal fuel under a fuel map, adjustable suspension, un-tamperable naked streetbike looks, etc, etc. The only niggle left would be service (Bajaj Service, to be precise!) ...

Otherwise, It's good to see that KTM is planning to rev hard...

Well, 125cc and 250cc Bajaj+KTM bikes were in discussion sometime ago. Now, This article says "The development of the Bajaj-KTM small capacity bikes is in full swing"...

If you are considering them, do wait until Auto Expo atleast, before laying down 3L's on Ninja... and the Auto Expo will reveal quite many secrets, for sure!

Thats great news now.. the only hard part will be that KTM has always been priced higher than the Japanese counterparts.
