  • Samsung Engineering Develops Hydrogen Scooter

SEOUL- Samsung Engineering Co. (KSE:028050) said Thursday it has conducted a successful test-ride of a hydrogen-powered motorcycle.
The scooter, the result of a project sponsored by the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Korea Institute of Science and Technology, can run up to 140 kilometers on 6 liters of hydrogen fuel, it said.

The newly-developed technology uses a water-based solution of sodium borohydride, made from sodium borate, to produce hydrogen gas.

The company explained that on 6 liters of hydrogen fuel, the vehicle can travel three times farther than a scooter powered by a nickel-cadmium cell, saying that the technology can also be applied in automobiles, laptop computers and mobile phones.

The downside is that there are only about 300 million tons of sodium borate worldwide, located mostly in Tibet, and that annual global production of sodium borohydride stands at 10,000 tons, it added.

"The development and testing of the hydrogen-powered scooter shows that South Korea's technology is on a par with that of the world," said Yu Yong-ho, president of Samsung Engineering's R&D center.

Dad, i told u they will do it sooner or later... & see they have done it now...!!!!

It is a Samsung, so just don't expect a high-quality product....!
me cribbing 'coz this Samsung has cheated us for more than abt Rs. 1.25 lakhs...!!!!

our 440 ltr fridge developed problem in very first week... each & every part has been replaced after a no. of fights & threats of consumer forum... cost of fridge was 40,000.

(the same problem in same fridge in my front door neighbour... same troubles faced...!!!)

our Samsung 1.5 split AC developed problem in first summer itsel... compressor changed... cost of AC was 37,000.

our Samsung camera phone developed some snag.... they simply refused to repair it ...reason being, warranty was expired just a week before...!
      cost of phone was...23,000.

our Samsung CDRW developed a problem in 13th month just after the warranty & they simply refused to touch it either. cost was ... 3,500.

      phew....!

So we had a lot of troubles from this Samsung group....won't buy any other product of it & nor we'll recommend anybody to go for it.

Now it is into auto-manufacturing..... GOD SAVE US INDIANS...!

well... if SONY comes with a car or bike then I may try for that ... 'coz my Sony TV, handycam & Music System has not given me any trouble ever...!

P.S.: i know that this is not a complaint forum for electronic products... but as we were having a bad experience with a co. i thought it might be helpful for all to share my experience wth my folks...!
vrrrooooooommm....BOOMMM...! Heard the sonic boom? Yeah, it was me...!
