well...let's hope M&M's bike won't make u feel nervous @ speeds above 80kmph...like their Scorpio do...!

yes, the Scorpio can get the $hit out of u when u r at the wheel going over 80 or say 100kmph & suddenly u have to swerve to avoid a cyclist came out of nowhere...!

let's hope they don't provide their bikes with such a feature...
vrrrooooooommm....BOOMMM...! Heard the sonic boom? Yeah, it was me...!

Hey.nice Info....but 100cc/125cc....i expected smthing like 150/200....anyway..atleast they are doing a R&D on a 1000cc but 2006 is way ahead for 150 cc right..by then BALIUS will be launched.
therefore if MAHINDRA give a VFM run price with the 250CC(if they launch)..we can expect BALIUS for lower prices..not to mention some '++' bikes frm HH by 2006., 'passion++' hehehe[:P]

Dosent make business sense for Mahindra to get into the 2 wheeler segment. They could use the money spend to build better 4 wheelers. If i was Mahindra i couldnt have done it............... But then i could be wrong...........

john_eliminator : the 100cc & 125cc r to be launched next year 1st Q while Rextron will come out by 2006 (mid or end), n the R&D is on for the 1000cc bike i don knw wht excatly they r doin on that 1000cc Yamaha thunderace but its 4 sure that they working on it. Miracle 100cc & 125cc were launched at the corp office with a bang all the bikes in the segment were placed behind M&M bikes, it was a gr8 launch but i guess they still have to undergo some changes before they hit the market.

Spitfire : u r wrong i worked in the company it is actually divided into 2 major sectors 1. Automotive sector (AS) 2. Farm Equipment Sector (FES) and they work independly. FES was the major source of revenue for the comp until scorpio was launched and bolero was improved both these cars r being launced world over scropio is called GOA in europe, wht i want to say is that the comp has enoughf resources to get into the bike market as it would be looked after by a diff sector which will not affect the AS or FES

Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) is planning to launch a new sports utility vehicle (SUV), Rexton, sourced from South Korea-based Ssangyong Motors, once owned by Daewoo Motors.

The Rexton will be priced slightly above the Scorpio. The company will make the decision as to the whether the SUV will be manufactured in India or imported and sold as a fully built imported vehicle.
The launch of the vehicle will mark the entry of M&M into the premium SUV segment. The new SUV will compete with SUVs like the Chevrolet Forrester and the Suzuki Grand Vitara.
The vehicle, expected to be priced in the range of Rs 13-15 lakh, is powered by a 290-litre turbo diesel engine and is capable of shifting from a two-wheel drive to a four-wheel drive.

The SUV was designed in collaboration between Daewoo and Ssangyong, and Daewoo even marketed the vehicle in Ireland just before its collapse.
M&M expects to use Ssangyong's marketing network to market its Scorpio in Korea and other ASEAN markets in return. Ssangyong, a truck and sports utility vehicle producer from South Korea, was purchased by Daewoo in 1998 and later hived off when the latter's troubles began.
