The show is fine, in the sense its a no nonsense Auto show w/o other consumer items being sold side by side. However, the display area is really small i.e participants are very few. The stunt show was pretty impressive and definitely worth a visit. Nothing for bikers though

i doubt this is any good as delhi auto show is the place where all the big boys will be at,where 2010 r1 will be launched

I plan to go there tomorrow. Just wondering if this will be another show like that "Vaahan Yatra" which was at the same spot a few months ago. I have been visiting that thing and every year (every year i know its the same layout yet i drag myself to go check it out lest i miss out on something new) but its the same old stall layout - some car dealerships of Tata, Maruti, Honda.. The Tata guy will usually have employed some MC to keep blabbering something on the mic and hand out some free gifts to whoever answers his questions on some tata car's specifications.. on rare occasions even the VW and the Skoda dealers put up stalls.. add a few aftermarket alloy wheel and ICE stalls, some cheap bike modifiers who claim they will convert your Pulsar150 to an R1 lookalike .. yamaha and suzuki will have displayed the R1 and Hayabusa and all the visitors hound the stall trying to pose and take photos of themselves or their children seated on the SBK tanks.. either way you can't even get a decent look.. and then there would be 1 or 2 stalls which sell lubricants and polishes.. and towards the end a stall which sells fake 40 Rs. Harley Davidson, Ferrari and Porsche keychains and stickers !!!.. I think I have summarized it all..

Barring the stunt show, is this Auto Mall the same thing??

U r very close in ur assessment Karthik..... But no Yamaha there this time.... and 2 juicy BMW's standing there.... lots of Beetles, a few vintages, a grand Jaguar, Honda, Maruthi, Skoda, Tata and Ford stalls. A couple of electric scoots stalls and that completes the "show".

The stunt show was pleasant at best. In and out in 1 hour.

I'll go just for the sake of the vintage beauties and the stunt show in that case..

Had been there today.. it was the usual crap as predicted

One thing i was astonished to see was the stunts show.. none of the participants were wearing any safety gear!! And to add to this, the stuntmen were performing their stunts on one small 50 mtr stretch of concrete road and all spectators were SEATED on the ground on either side of the "road"... not even any kind of protective barricade or railings along the road... god forbid had there been an accident the bike would be catapulted right into the crowd!! Wow!! Bewildering lack of safety measures!! Absolute lack of responsibility on the part of the organizers!

RJ Prithvi was compering the show today i guess. The MTV stuntmania guys were there apart from some other popular stuntmen..

I was at that stunts' place for almost 45 mins and all I saw was a bunch of guys on RX100s popping wheelies on that stretch continuously.. I thought I could see some stunts like the pulsarmania ad or something Was expecting burnouts, roling stoppies, human compass, etc at least.. Disappointing show overall..

The barricades were there. But due to improper viewing angles, the spectators got in front gradually to have a better view. Naturally, this will end up being right in front of the performers.

And yes, barring just 1, the rest were all wearing loose helmets, loose t-shirts, 3/4ths and sneakers. Only 1 was wearing hand gloves with a gauntlet.

                      Totally irresponsible in my view.

Frankly the show was sad from what they actually posted on their website like the presence of a Gallardo LP520 an F1 car and a few more. None of them actually turned up.
Riding is a way of life. Sometimes, it might also be a way of giving life. So Ride safe. In both contexts.
