The Scooty / Pep+ is already a big brand and recognized and well accepted as a female centric scooter.
TVS needs a Unisex - Male centric scooters. Hope the new 100 cc fills up this void in its lineup.

"A brand new full-fledged 100 cc gearless scooter is ready to enter the Indian auto market from TVS Motors. Currently Honda scooters rule this market segment but Mahindra has already launched successful models like Flyte, Duro and Rodeo in the Indian market. Not to be left behind, TVS Motors is also ready with its brand new model after its super-successful model Scooty Pep. TVS Motor is better known for its Scooty range which is largely targeted at young women commuters. Moving to a larger scooter could also do the trick in getting men to ride it which is the case with the Honda Activa. Honda sells nearly 55,000 Activa each month. It has also launched another model Aviator in the same segment to expand its product portfolio.

There is no official statement from the company so far about the scooter but a 110cc gearless scooter currently unveiled in Macau is set to be launched in the country by the end of this year. “The new 100cc TVS scooter is a regular metal body vehicle which will offer the best in terms of speed, handling, comfort and stability. The engine is top-class and the product will be competitively priced,” sources said."

TVS Jive will be the new clutchless bike from TVS Motor which will also have 110 cc engine with innovative automatic clutch. It carries lean muscular looks of FZ-16. Though no official announcement has been about the price, the speculated price of the model is around Rs 48,000. There is no confirmed launch date of Jive but it is expected that TVS is going to launch it in last week of November. TVS has good experience in manufacturing bikes with automatic clutch as they are selling TVS Neo in Indonesia and it is selling in good numbers.

TVS is a leading two wheeler manufacturer in India that dominates strongly in gearless scooters for women. Its two new models are strategic launches to capture the male segment who opt for gearless scooters. This segment is clearly dominated by Honda with its best selling models Activa and Aviator. Apart from TVS Motors, Mahindra also plans to compete in this segment with its two new models Duro and Rodeo."
