There's a reason why I formatted that 8 in FZ8
Anyways, from what I "know" I was expecting a FZ coming to India.... but will this be a global launch is what I cant say now!
heck we might be a place for the older FZs to be dumped as well!Super CommuTOURer - Talk less, Ride more

Hum.....
Acording to the posted news link it is to replace XJ6, is a middle weight bike and draws from supersport engines.
Taking all this in to account it is safe to assume that it will be more than a half liter bike. Price tag thus should be atleast 7 lakhs.

@ satyen & Pulsar_flame: Guys, Indian Rules say that above 800cc bikes are allowed to be imported & sold, without homologation process.
But guys, if it is "798"cc or so, would it be allowed without homologation? I think not. That's why Ducati 696 was launched late...
Bottom line, I don't see 800cc being an advantage... In fact, FZ6 has more chances of Indian Launch, very obviously...

Earlier, A Yamaha official did say they are considering CKD Route for R6 & FZ6 import. It was in a Video interview.Originally posted by pulsar_flame View Post@samrath ohh oppss. howz fz6 possible in india ?
Fz6, R6, and probably even Fz8 have to be homologated by ARAI, if they want to launch here. This is an expensive & time consuming process..
The reason why I said "more chances" is the appeal of the Faired FZ6, and lower cost.
However, FZ1 can be imported without homologation...---
