It's time you gear up as you wait (and save) for your favorite pair of Harley wheels. Harley Davidson has announced plan to launch its mean line-up of accessories and clothes in India. The H-D range includes leather jackets, clothing, boots, sunglasses, caps, headgear, keychains and keyrings.
Currently the US bike maker is considering to tie-up with manufacturers in India who would produce these products along with other motorcycle parts. The firm already purchases speedometer for one of its cruisers from an Indian firm and Harley could look at involving more Indian vendors for other motorcycle parts in the future.
Anoop Prakash, MD, Harley Davidson India said to a leading English daily that the range of merchandise will be available in shopping malls and arcades, away from bike showrooms. Though the H-D bike showrooms will keep some product lines, a wide range of apparel and accessories will also be available at locations other than the showrooms.
Prakash had told BIKE India earlier in an interview that about five per cent of Harley's revenues come from its apparels and accessories business.
