the sym engine is performing well in the mahindra rodeo series of the 2 wheelers, just awaiting for the launch of the bikes on the sym platform, that will be one thing to watch out for i am sure the marketing will be better as today the rodeo gives the activa and pleasure a run for its money with the kind of performance it gives.

A quick first look gave me an expression that it a big capacity bike than what it actually is, like 200/250cc.
Looks neat...can be goot starter for Mahindra in an CC based market like ours--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Current rides-
Iron 883 (2015- ); Interceptor 650 (2019- )

i thought lets us know more about this firm called SYM, and searched on net. found out that this is taiwan based company with a history similar to Hyosung. SYM was earlier manufacturing bikes and cars for Honda. later their agreement ended and now they are manufacturing two wheelers on there own and manufacturing cars for hyundai in taiwan.
in fact it is not even upto Hyosung. Hyosung manufactures 650 cc bikes but SYM has a portfolio of only upto 250 cc.
can someone search further and post details of this 250 cc bike, its chasis etc.
technically speaking mahindra is a far better company in terms of technical know how and r &d strength (right now limited to mainly four wheelers rather than two wheelers... but still..). sym had a percentage stake in earstwhile kinetic ... somewhere around 11% and that may be a reason why mahindra is still using SYM for scooters.

India has better manufacturers than SYM !!!
I do not understand this,
What SYM has and had done, our Hero Moto Corp and TVS are also capable of that, while Bajaj can teach Sym something about bikes, then why invite something from someone to the market where it is not required.
I get it that the Sym Wolf 250 is a 250cc bike, but it has nothing special to offer other than being a 250cc bike.I wonder what quality and reliability it would have.
Mahindra's own Mojo 300 would have been much better than the SYM and who knows, despite its funny name and radical looks it could have bettered a Japanese 250cc.
Mojo 300 has a pedigree of being an inhouse motorcycle of the manufacturers of Scorpio and XUV and also had European based engineering behind it.But this SYM 250.............?
But some people would still buy it, if it comes at the cheap price it deserves.
I am really frustrated that the market is not getting to explore the Mojo 300 just for some stupid reasons. But for some more stupid reason we would be getting a Sym 250cc bike to explore !!!!!Last edited by MACH50; 06-24-2012, 11:27 AM.Hell's Angel
