The rider gaining maximum from this decision might well be Nicky Hayden. He was so damn aggressive back in '06, an year before the class was made 790cc.
And what about Launch Control? Will it be present on those 990cc's too?
Personally, I love GP's without launch control. It adds another advantage to the skilled rider, despite some mis-launches (if at all)...---

you might have not been following MotoGP since earlier days...the premier class of Road racing had 2 stroke 500cc machines before it switched to full time 4 stroke 990cc machines. in 2007 the class was changed to 800cc for saftey concerns over the ever increasing figuers of top speed.Originally posted by ashes View Postfirst introduction of 600cc and now this!!
i don't really like this news...cause 800cc is specific to Moto GP!!
if they replace it there will not be any exclusivity!!
with extensive use of electronic in 800cc machines...the rider involvement in bringing the bike home had been reduced. it was more of a technologically faster bike that made the difference instead of the rider standing out of the crowd.
the 1000cc machines are being brought back to increase the aduience count by offering more variety of winners in a particular season. which is possible by having more similar machines on the grid instead of technology playing the game here.
the extensive use of electronics is also expected to be reduced keeping in mind the development and maintainance cost, which not all teams would easily meet in the past few years.Last edited by R-series; 12-22-2009, 05:36 PM.Just because you haven't seen it doesnt mean its impossible...expect the unexpected.
