  • BBC: Motorbikes still popular in India

A transport boom in India is expected to see the number of vehicles on the roads rise in the next two decades to 380 million.

The most popular form of transport is still the motorbike and many enjoy transforming their bikes, which sometimes become more than just a way of getting around.

    Ben Richardson reports from Bhopal.
SOURCE: BBC News - Motorbikes still popular in India

Mr. Ben and BBC couldnt have chosen a more inappropriate title for their news. It should have been "Motorbikes more popular!" instead of "still popular".

The BBC name and their reporters ought to have done their homework a little better to understand whats going on in the motorcycling world in India.

They live in their own world. In their world it is only cars. But then entire south asia is full of motorcycles. They don't give a damn regard to that fact. What tver teh reason may be.

We sell more SBKs than they do....
why all biggies are launching SBKs here...

they are saturated....whereas we require more of theses machines.

I found the video quite OK ...& yaa the title mentions "still" popular with context to the western culture I guess where motorcycles per say are way beyond the daily commuter tag

ps:it could also be a derogatory statement meaning that India still prefers motorcycles as a cheap & fast way to commute as compared to cars...

The tone of the video is very Bland and doesn't convey true meaning

bikes are more fuel efficient anyway, considering most bikes sold are 100ccs... We do have a headway there
It all begins with a thumb-start -- Oh, wait, I forgot the kill-switch
