hey guys this happened a couple of days ago it wasent right but it kinda felt like a payback here goes-- i asked the guy fillin the fuel to fill her up for 500 the cashier was standin a little further as it was crowded then i rode near him and for some reason instead of sayin 500 i said 200(thats the usual amt i fill for ) in kannada and give him 500 bucks note he asks the guy fillin fuel, 200aaa in kannada then he turns back to me and he gives me back 300 bucks (200 and 500 kinda sound the same in kannada) and am off from the bunk dint realize until a couple of moments l8r lolz it felt great thoughThree things tell a man: his eyes, his friends and his BIKE

some news here...i see that petrol elsewhere(atleast the route in which i travel everyday)costs 54.26 rs....but in a hp bunk along bg road(hulimavu),they sell fuel at 53.odd rs...is this happening anywhere else in blore?...It all begins with a thumb-start -- Oh, wait, I forgot the kill-switch

I'm planning to buy a 5 liter can and fill it up in a bunk every weekend and fill my bike.. these days all the bunks are cheating no matter what shell or HP, recently I filled at the IOC bunk near MG road for 500 bucks and it hit reserve at just 260kms that makes it less than 30 kmpl which my bike has never returned in life time, I most of the time fill at HP and they are ok kinda.. I get more than 43 when i fill at hp.
The only thing i follow is i keep an eye on the meter no matter what..Fun Starts at Redline!!!

i would always fill in my bike at rs.100 petrol bcoz the petrol would vaporize easily if i buy petrol in large quantities & it would be a waste of money.

It seems like a good idea to fill petrol in cans too, if u have to use other pumps.
IMHO, the guys who conducted the "Sting" Operation should not have confronted the Bunk guys when it turned out they were cheating. They should have instead, made a list of all the bunks that cheated, and then made the list public.
No point tryin to scare the small guys who're working for a pittance. that's not gonna change anything. The company can try and save face by firing them.
If it turns out, however, that the same thing is going on in multiple outlets, the blame falls on the higher officials.
Kudos to the "Stingers" though, for publicizing this. Some of us suspected this was happening, but it's nice to see it confirmed.

Try the Shell and another petrol pump near Sony World in Koramangla. Its opposite to where there was Yo China or there is Legends of Rock. Guys...all of you be careful with kairathabad BP bunk....i asked him to fill up 5 liters in my car...i also had to put in some liquid...so he poured in 1 liter and i put in the liquid...and i also observed that he started the meter reading from that 1 liter...meanwhile the other guy was pestering me wether it was cash or card but i dint bother seeing him..after 4 liters he was seeing me and saying "all ok" and i said u started from 1liter na,so plz continue...the other guy i think maybe the head of the bunk was like telling him to fill up...and he did...I RuLe Da HeAvEn, I RuLe Da heLL,I RuLe Da UnIvErSe, As HuMaNiTy FeLL

Buy a two liter can (available at any general grocery shop or wholesale shops for just 10 to 15 rupees because the pepsi and coke bottles have small mouth petrol will spill out) go and fill two liter on the can, petrol bunk person knows its a two liter can and if it didn't get filled up then the customer will complaint moreover u can see it wither its full or not
after that go home take a half liter pepsi, fanta or coke bottle just cut the extreme back end of the bottle use it like a funnel and pass the petrol to your bike

More empty the tank is, more space for the petrol to evoporate and get collected and vice versa.
Above a certain vapour pressure, the evoporation stops and both the pertol and pertrol vapor try to attain equilibrium. Since vapours are compressible, when the tank is near empty, more amount of vapors are required to move towards the vapour-liquid equilibrium(hence more evoporation), where as, if its full tank, then very little space for the vapours to get collected, hence it tries to attain the equilibrium point sooner and hence very less evoporative losses.
Many do not get the logic behind this.

Ohh Man this is not good; we are paying for the right fuel...
I also some time blame my bike and some time the city traffic..
I stated filling from a now petrol bunk now.. hope the lady vendor is not cheating..
Please use all possible safety measures while riding and remember others also riding on the same road...

I think I might have encountered a new type of cheating. I had filled up for rs. 200 i.e. ~3ltr at some bunk on SH17, approximately after riding 45-50 kms in reserve. Once I left the bunk, I hit reserve again after only 40 kms....thats atleast 30-40 kms before expected, that too under continuous highway riding!!!! My biek is a almost new gs150r...least mileage of 40kmpl.
Back when I was filling up, I noticed that the bunk attendant made a sharp jerk at the pipe sometime during the filling and I noticed it made a gap at the junction between the pipe and the gun. At the same time, I noticed the sound of petrol flowing started to lessen and stopped while the meter ran for atleast 1/2-1 ltr more. My mind was elsewhere to think anything suspicious of this at that time. But, it became apparent that either the meter or the filling gun or both had been tampered after I had ridden ~ 40 kms away.
There is, at most, negligible calculation error on my side. I was not distracted from the meter reading or the gun handling. I saw the amount set to 200 and petrol at 0 before filling. I noticed the attendant had locked the gun trigger and his hand was away from it when filling. It wasnt in an isolated area, it was on the highway....so meter tampering cannot be more than 10% even by conservative estimates. Nothing else was out of place other than the jerk at the pipe made midway by the attendant.
So, how do I explain the loss of atleast a liter of fuel?
Im thinking something is up with the jerking. Maybe the gun was tampered to unlock the trigger upon a sharp jerking motion. Maybe there was some cutoff in the pipe-gun junction which stopped fuel from flowing after the jerk. I dont know. Anyone else experienced this?
