  • Rossi sets stunning times during Ferrari tests

ROME: Moto GP champion Valentino Rossi admitted he was delighted after setting a stunning lap time of 1min 21.900sec during testing at the Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona on Thursday.

Rossi was taking part in his second day of testing with the Ferrari F2008, the same car with which 2007 world champion Kimi Raikkonen set the circuit's lap record in 2008.

That was a time of 1:21.670, just over a couple of tenths faster than Rossi's penultimate lap.

"We kept the last three quarters of an hour to try a 'time attack' with little petrol and fresh tyres," said 30-year-old Rossi, who added he had enjoyed himself even more than during his last test with Ferrari at Mugello in November 2008.

"It's more effort in Mugello but this track here is really wonderful, with motorbikes and cars."

Rossi spun twice at the turn during wet conditions on Wednesday and although the weather was not ideal to begin with on Thursday he still managed to complete 600km over the two days.

No words to define about him... When he was with Honda, many people said it was the ability of Honda engine, he replied to those people showing it was not the engines ability but the master who rides it when he joined Yamaha...

          A LEGEND in all respects...

Sorry to Say, its good for Rossi test Ferrari, but its no big difference for F1 Drivers its just that "with little petrol and fresh tyres" Kimi would have got more faster time, but Kimi was in Competition, unlike Rossi who's Testing

No offence on Rossi or his talent, But just letting you guys know the Truth.

May be... also think the other way, give Kimi the "M1"?
Bro Kimi is an experienced driver with which he has lot of knowledge/experience with the Ferrari...

... My idea is to say Rossi is not experienced like Kimi in Ferrari... that's all...

You have to admit it man, we all know how he rides a bike . By doin the same with a F1 machine he has proven that he can ride anything that has an engine faster than anybody.

Rossi is amazing! Is there a machine built that he can't handle well?? I doubt it.

The timing was good enough for a MotoGP Champion. Let's hope he keeps to bikes!

Guys, you know one day, a self-proclaimed Kimi logged into Mobilesmania site (I'm a Mod there). Despite giving genuine & believable details, we (MM Staff) were unable to confirm, whether he was real Kimi or not..

i too am a big fan of Rossi.. but to the matter of fact, testing and racing are two different things.. so comparing Rossi and Kimi is pointless.. i am sure Kimi can drive the car faster than Rossi while testing..

Did Schumacher ever drive GP machine? I remember he once took part in one with a KTM machine and finished around 6 or so. I think the GP machines are the real mean machines out there, which will give you high sides on a minor mistake and low sides on hard braking!!!!!! In a formula one machine with current level of security you wont get hurt even after a huge crash. But what about a GP machine?
