    Two young city bikers cover the 5,900 km Golden Quadrilateral in 146 hours and come b

    Highway, not funway Proof reading

    With small fuel tanks, the two bikers had to refuel at least four times a day during their travel. Refuelling had to be done using either a debit or credit card. This was the only proof of their journey.

    At many petrol pumps, there was no facility to use cards and they had to go in search of one with the facility. They slept at the bunks and food was usually a hurried meal at a highway dhaba.

      Dude,

      The first bit is a sort of an exaggeration - of all the people, Renu isn't half the average joe you paint him to be

            I cant recall, so can anyone tell me/post a link to what is the record time of completing the entire GQ on a motorcycle.

              As far as I've heard, there's an info floating around that Dr Arnold or Bernard (not sure on the names as different posts gives different names) has completed GQ in 75 hours. His was anti clock wise, meaning from south towards east instead of the usual south to west. Like you, I too am searching the authenticity of this information since the day the SRM guys from Chennai tried breaking that record using a CRV.

                  This article is a repaste of the Mumbai mirror article so please excuse platitudes like "city bikers" for seasoned pros like Renu and he's a crazy Yam fan so he prefers the Gladiator over the P180. Go figure!!

                  aargee - its Arnob/Arn. Surely you jest about Bernard etc. I've not found his name misquoted anywhere till I read your post! Your info is further wrong since the 72 hour record was set in a Toyota Corolla by journos in a tag team. Dr's record is 118.67 hours on bike.

                    yes this article was posted in Mumbai Mirror and though a month old not everyone was aware of this feat, since it appeared only a couple of days ago in the papers

                            Renu is avery good friend of mine and their tales on the GQ Run is worth listening...

                            PS: Renu is not an amatuer rider..he is regular motocross rider for the Yamaha factory team and Amrith is a skilled rider too having completed the INRC rally in 2009...
                            Its not easy to be sponsered by Yamaha for a ride like this...

                            Novices arent even considered for such ventures...

                              Hitanshu, I agree with you. Not just average joe, I am nothing when I consider myself with the fellow bikers.

                              @Nitin: I just don't speak about the abilities of the Gladiator. I prove it. I guess you are highly confused. I thank the abilities of my Gladiator, I am recognized with few National Titles.
