^ Ya seriously...the European govt should make it a 20 Bhp limit and we can exchange all our bikes with theirs. Super!

I believe they can tune the Fi/ Fuel Maps of the existing/ future bikes, to make them less powerful.

Guys, Remember that GSX 600R can be limited to 32 bhp for beginners in UK, to comply with the rules. Something similar can be done to restrict it to 100 bhp.
So, they won't sell you their beloved bikes.

Guys, even a non-supersport 600cc can touch around 100 bhp, like Hornet 600, etc.
So, I believe it should be 140-150 bhp, in order to ensure a peaceful implementation & support by people.

if this rule comes into affect, then its surely gonna piss off many new and existing bikers which in turn, will take away the interest and fun of motorcycling for many. UK motorcycle industry has already seen the dip in the market past few months and this news can make things worst.

Ironically, UK gov is promoting car drivers to get on bikes but with such non conventional ideas its gonna go round and round.

@samarth - those are called "restrictor kits" and come for almost every sports/street bike .

The European commission passed this advisory around 2002 I think. The only country that implemented this advisory is France. However, the French bikers do get their bikes remapped to get the original non-French specs, which they call the "Version Libre". Doing this gets their insurance void however. In case of an accident, they check the ECU and they end up paying through their own pockets for damages.
The Wheel was a great invention; Two Wheels with a Motor in between was even better!
